I did notice on my 4200 mile SW trip last year towing an RV that we used some oil, but it seems to have stopped since then. I could agree with your theory!You need to pull a 5,000 lb trailer around for 500 miles. This will help set the rings and oil blow-by will subside. The Gen3 ecodiesel uses low-tension piston rings. Good for less friction, bad for blow-by.
