Does anyone know how to route the wires from the cab to the bed? Are there any openings at the back of the cab that I can poke wires through to the bed? I'm thinking about installing an additional rear view camera, but dont want to route the wires under the truck. Thank you in advance!

I know you said you don't want to for whatever reason, but I'd just find the wiring harness to the rear, probably along the frame, and run it with that. Stuff it in some corrugated conduit first if you want it to look less sloppy.

I haven't done any wiring on the JT yet but I try to keep my wiring on other vehicles with the factory wiring. Just seems neater that way.

Agreed that's a good route.
I've done that, and I've run it inside the right frame rail.
One set of wires to the rear follow the factory harness path. It's safe up there atop the frame and it's an easy route.
I also found routing inside the frame to be quite simple.
There's also nice wire covers that resemble factory wiring that look more professional than the plastic "conduit", IMO

I also installed a rear view camera/black box. I installed my rear view inside the cab. I have found several benefits: 1. Camera stays clean even in rain. 2. Acts as a wide view camera covering the blind spots. ??

I'd be interested in whatever that wire covering is called. I've always used the conduit but never been totally satisfied. It was just easy and convenient.

Stuff that was more visible I'd wrap in that felt-like Tesa harness tape. But that can get messy too, and doesn't seem to hold up to the elements too well outside of an engine bay or interior application

Yeah that sounds like a good option. I'm just not sure if the wires are weather proof. I would have a peace of mind knowing the wires are routed inside the cab.

How are the visibility of the view from the inside, do you mind sharing any photos? Also, where did you mount the camera to?

For covering the wiring this is the stuff I used, with heat shrink tubing on ends.

I used the expandable not split loom. The 1/4 inch tubing can or will expand to larger size of wiring too.
You can run some wires through the vent flap on back of cab the though plugs in bed or frame rail / next to them.

Do you know where I could locate the vent flap you mentioned? And Can I just poke through the vent or I need to cut something?

So I use the drain plug right under the driver's seat carpet and cut a slit in the rubber. Then run it on the top of the frame with wire loom and zip ties. And then up and over the bed. Did something similar on my Tacoma and going on 6 years without issues

You can just run some wires through it, the wire you will see in my pictures is the rear camera cable on mine that I ran under hardtop. The black plastic further down is the vent on back of right side of cab.

That sounds like an easy enough option. I might end up using this method. Thank you
