How does data for the tablet get to the tablet? Like for using maps or streaming music apps from the head unit if you don’t have the ability to use CarPlay or android auto? Do you require to put your phone in hotspot and connect the head unit to your wifi hotspot?
You are correct, assuming you didn't want to use AA or carplay you would need to use your phone as a hotspot.

This is actually how I use my IA3001 90% of the time as I really am not a fan of AA.

For talking on the phone or streaming music though you would only need to connect bluetooth from your phone. You would only need to use the hotspot if you were using the apps like maps or spotify on the headunit.

Are you able to customize the different radio screens some of their stick pictures look really bland.. like the fm radio screen etc?
I don't think so.

And do you know if you can use it with a tazer
Just got a Tazer, but have not installed it yet. You can't change anything within the SC7862 with a Tazer, but they can run together.

Thanks for the information. One more question. Do you know if you can add a third camera?
I'm pretty sure you can. Will have to check later. The SC7862 is the only Android headunit I found that will accept both front and rear factory cameras. The Insane Audio JL4001 (and the 3001) do not have that capability...I know because I had/tried both and sent them back. The Jeep factory camera system is fairly unique because of the digital control box behind the rear seat that interfaces both the front and rear cameras to the headunit with a single coax cable.

I'm slow...still have not installed the Tazer. It should not interfere with the SC7862 in any way that I know of.

I doubt it would be an issue. I've been running a tazer with my IA3001 and now 4001 with no problems for what that is worth.

This is what I was trying to confirm. Thank you!
@cbj0609 how did the upgrade go? I am thinking of buying 8.4 from All Mopar Parts.com which is about $500 cheaper that nismopar. I have a 2020 sport s with 7 inch now. Did you buy from a mopar direct - if so which one? Also, did you run into any trouble with install. All Mopar Parts says they will provide the security code and no need to program with VIN.

Has anyone in here bought 8.4 from All Mopar Parts before. If so, what was your experience?

Yes. Fast delivery. 8.4 was plug and play. Just have to wait about 24 hours for all functions to boot up.

Just my 2 cents worth, but I have the Phoenix SC7862 (8 gig/128 gig) installed in my '21 Mojave and love it. It's pretty much plug and play so the install is fairly easy. I have not lost a single OEM feature that I know of and everything works as it should. OEM mic., front and rear factory cameras, etc. function normally. I do not use Apple Carplay or Android Auto (most folks with an Android headunit use apps they download anyway), but they are both included with the SC7862 if you plan to go that route. If you have factory Sirius/XM and/or Navigation like I did, Phoenix includes an adapter that will allow you to use your factory GPS antenna on top of the roll bar. All in all a pretty slick package!
Still happy with your purchase? Seriously considering this unit. I assume it isn't compatible with XM radio. You have to stream from your the app?
