Hey everyone, not sure if anyone has seen the article posted by TFL Truck stating the JT will start at $45K. The article explains the insider did not specify which JT model the pricing reflects, but it would make sense for it to be the base JT Rubicon price. $2,500 over the cost of a JL Rubicon isn't terrible for what you are getting and most of us could likely haggle that pricing increase back down. The cost right now for the Diesel and 8 speed auto for the Ram trucks is sitting at $4,770 increase so we are looking at roughly $50K for a base JT Rubicon Diesel. Only other options I would personally add would be the hardtop and LED lighting. Article below.

If it's $4770 for the 3.0/8sp combo I'm OK with that too. It's quite a lot, but well worth it IMHO.

Billy that is the current Ram pricing from their Build & Price sheet. I hope that is accurate and it isn't much different (except cheaper) for the JT. Could probably get a few dealers bidding against each other to drive the price of a custom order down plus the Tread Lightly discount on top. Doable, but still not cheap.

Too much speculation, is JT going to have the same trims as Wrangler or is it going to lean more like Ram and have a Base, Limited, and maybe something in the middle? both have been talked about. Either way, think it will hit 60K as a 3.0 Rubicon/Limited with all the fixins'

Speculation is all we've got, man. :bandit:

The leaked tow figures listed a base and premium model, with the premium having slightly lower tow rating, iirc. That suggests that the premium model might have a more off road tuned suspension.

Given that they've said that the JT will be intentionally expensive, it seems more likely that the base model would be more akin to the Sahara than a Sport.

Go to the RAM web site and build a 2019 1500 QuadCab 4x4 Big Horn. Add in air suspension, HD tow, 3.92 gear, Skids/tow hooks, and a rear locker. I will be significantly less that what is being predicted for the JT.

I need a truck and may end up with another RAM. That's ok though. We'll likely upgrade wife's 2012 JK for a JL

Yea its going to be interesting to see if a AEV Equipped Ram comes out less then the JT .... the only problem with a Ram Big Horn is you will not get the resale value you will with the JT. So while it seems more expensive up front it might cost you less in the end.

However if road manners and comfort are more important then the Ram might still be the way to go. Thats my personal struggle.

I have been looking at Ram's recently and it would certainly fit my needs but its a big truck. I am more of a mid-size guy but the market has few offerings right now that entice me like the Jeep does.

Im really having trouble getting my head around dropping 50K on a jeep.

I want the soft top with diesel and about as minimalist as I can get it beyond that.

I am still much more likely to buy one than not, but 50 grand is 50 grand.

Bottom line- it appears they have met everything I wanted.
1) Haul my whole family around (2 adults 3 kids)
2) Capability to tow 5,000lbs or more
3) Removable top
4) Diesel
5) be capable of pickup truck duties if needed.

But 50 grand is 50 grand...

It sucks that FCA is so greedy with the JT. If the price is that high, it will be in the same range as a discounted 2019 Ram Rebel Crew Cab with a Hemi V8. I've seen some Rebels selling at $42-45k and that may push me to a Ram. I'll miss the topless/doorless Jeep but much more width, payload and better cabin may be impossible to pass up.
