You could do like I did on my bed , it’s just a threaded rod and some bike rack locks!!Wandering if there is a way to mount rotopax containers and or traction boards on the exterior sides of a RSI Smartcap?
You can do the same thing but on the side of your cap, this thing is just a steel plate with the2 rods affix to it, you just need to fix the plate to your cap or screw the rods direct through the sidesYes, I have the Builtright molle panels inside my truck bed. But the truck bed is full of equipment. I need to find away to store traction boards and more fuel on the exterior sides of my Smartcap.
How are they still working out?UPDATE: After RSI ( maker of the Smartcap) suggested that I consider the Seasucker mounting system as a means to mount Rotopax fuel containers on the exterior of my Smartcap. While at the Great Smokey Mountain Jeep Invasion, I was able to see firsthand the Seasucker mounts. I was very impressed with them and purchased the Rotopax mount and a system for mounting traction boards. Today I had time to assemble and mount the Rotopax mount. I am extremely impressed with the Seasucker mounting system! If anyone wants to carry extra fuel, water or other gear on the exterior of their rig, you really should look into the Seasucker mounting system.
NOTE: I have no relation ship with Seasucker. I paid full retail for the mounts that I am using.

Have you been off road much with them, they stay put? Any issues at all?The Seasucker mounts do hold well on the glass panels of my Smartcap however, I have been reluctant to put more the one 2 gallon Rotopax on the glass as im afraid of breaking the glass. I’m just being extra cautious. I do not leave the Seasucker mounts attached on a daily practice, just when I know that I may need more reserve fuel then my 4 gallon Rotopax that is inside the bed at the front.
Sorry for the bump - but I came across this post.UPDATE: After RSI ( maker of the Smartcap) suggested that I consider the Seasucker mounting system as a means to mount Rotopax fuel containers on the exterior of my Smartcap.
