Having read the UAW demands; they seem unrealistic. Dealer lots seem to be “flooded” with Gladiators, not sure about other models. Corporate tactic to squeeze the union? Maybe, but 90 days of strike pay is going to hurt.
Of course they are unrealistic, that is a negotiating tactic. The compromise will be less than the original ask.

you must be anti American worker
Only 11% of American workers are union. Unions are not there for the worker. They are there for the Democratic National Committee. The majority of the other 90% of American workers seem to make a livable wage unrepresented.

I wonder if the strike does go months, would Jeep just not make anymore 23’s, even though they’re already on order, and just go straight to the 24’s?

I need a new wiring harness so, I'm hoping this doesn't delay my dealership in getting it...it was ordered yesterday and my dealership was told it'd be there in a week...

Well, Jeep's got 90 days of inventory in stock. My guess is, at least a three month strike and dealers will get just the limited amount of JT's they've already made.
Now that would surprise me . Most run on just in time production so I really do not think they have 90 frames ,transmissions and engines in storage among all the other stuff needed for production . Let alone 90 body's all ready painted .

Yeah, the big three should easily be able to replace these unskilled workers. It's not even really a strike because they have so many people lined up ready to do these jobs for less. ?‍♂
I think there are tens of thousands of migrants camped out in NYC right now that were let in by the group that the UAW supports. It's not beyond reality that these people would love to work for auto giants.

But will this drive demand up on the current inventory and then dealers and corporate make out in the end?

With what the overpaid bumper installers were offered,it's unbelievable they went on strike.. they act like they are still the craftsman of the 60's, they have demanded so much to make the job so easy, and on top of that, thier union supports the reason we have the inflation we do....
I offer ZERO SUPPORT for the UAW..

Their demands are crazy-32 hour week with a 40% pay increase. For what? Most of their job is watching automation or putting a couple bolts on with the help of a robot arm. Today's factory workers do not have to be as skilled as the ones a couple decades ago. If I was the CEO I would consent to the 32 hour week and classify them all as part-time employees and not allowed any benefits, then don't budge.

Seriously? What they were offered initially by the big 3 was over the top generous.... GREED is the mantra of the UAW

In a true free market (capitalism), the economy would determine pay, wages, benefits, etc. What we're seeing today is the result of crony capitalism. If the UAW isn't smart, they will all lose their jobs, and the vehicles will be built in Mexico and other countries where people want jobs. Or, they will be built in American plants that aren't unionized, if that's possible.
