Mojave spec. axles are installed on Mojave, Recon, and Max Tow. They are the same width as Rubicon, but incorporate thicker tubes (10mm) and cast iron knuckles. They're the shit.
It's thicker tube vs jl, the JT all get the 10mm tubes. Only difference between jtr and jtm axles is iron knuckles and some of the bracketry being different. Oh and the Rubicon gets a front locker.

But it's a given any Mojave owner will say it's best at everything.
"Best at everything" is a bit misguided as the majority of Mojave owners probably don't go desert running with their JTM's and drive it in which it has been promoted since day one. I certainly couldn't make the claim that it was the best at everything because I wouldn't know. Is it for everyone? Probably not. For me, just a darn nice riding vehicle with a pavement friendly smooth ride each day.

Just like many of the Rubicon, Overland, Max-Tow and 4xe owners think that their rides are superior to other trims. It's a given.

Last time we were offroading we saw this jeep called the urubicom. Wife and I kept on saying Oo-roo-bee-com and it was only when my buddy read it to us over the radio that we really got the name

I did not know all JT's were getting the thicker tubes, thank you. ?

@ShadowsPapa Man, I almost got an Overland for the wife, I went to test drive it and battery was completely dead. Salesman charged it, got it running no stereo function at all and CEL was on. I took it as a sign.

Essentially they're the Diesel Axles and Knuckles

The thicker tube thing has been debunked years ago. The tube thickness on a Sport, or Overland is the same as a Rubicon or Max tow.
The ONLY difference between Rubicon, Max Tow and HA axles is the width. The tubes are the same as the others.
Max tow axle tubes are the same as Rubicon axle tubes.

It's been hashed about and found to be a screw-up in the marketing and journalists - and of course bloggers and automotive journalists never get anything wrong haha.
I even asked the service department about the differences and they said - same tubes.

That's what my wife says about our Overland - three times "man, this thing sure rides nice" and talks how great it is on trips, rough pavement and so on.
After-all, it's supposed to be the luxury level for daily use (until the HA version of the Overland came out)

But it's a given any Mojave owner will say it's best at everything. To say otherwise is to admit to the possibility of being not the very best and no Jeep person would ever say that publicly. So, whatever.
This is a really informative post- thank you.

Does this carry across to the JL’s as well??

I have never found a solid answer on the “diesels” axles…for JL’s & JT’s the diesels get iron knuckles across the board- no matter what option. The width changes if you have a rubicon or max tow for both JL and JT (No max tow for JL… got it.) and then the addition of the locker for rubi’s correct. So a Saharan JL diesel has same size differential, narrower than a rubicon- but same tube thickness, and the same iron knuckles, no locker.

Anyone have an information link for this? Everything I've seen confirms 10mm tubes are only used with wide axles.

10mm tubes are only installed on widetrack axles found on Wrangler Rubicon, Wrangler X Recon, Gladiator Max Tow, Mojo and Rubicon. Rubicon being the only one with aluminum knuckles. Everything else is standard width/thickness. They strengthened the tubes to compensate for the added 1.5" length. Glad I got the heavy tubes at least. How long do I have to drive this thing around before I can sit at the cool kids table? :CWL:

I figured for about 2k in springs and Falcon shocks, I can have a Mojavicon and be the ninja of the Gladiator world. ;):bandit: The reinforced chassis and iron knuckles does make Dick feel warm and fuzzy, but I reckon I'll just have to ease up on the jumping.
