what are common issues with a JT with about 60,000 Miles on it. Looking at buying a used one, I know the owner, and trust them, mostly highway miles. But what are common issues I could expect?

I just passed 80k. No mechanical issues so far, just maintenance. Only issue has been paint bubbling, first on the hood, now on the hinges.

My 2020 Sport S has 75K on it and other than routine maintance I have had no issues. Oil changes, tire rotation, alignment at 70. It will need tires at round 80K but it has been rock solid.

80k here too. Only issue I’ve had is failed aux battery and main.
due to my inexperience, I blew some fuses that I was unaware
ef and was a bit pricey. Keep in mind, self induced. But batteries will be on your short list if still factory.

That's true of many, if not most, modern vehicles.
The battery in the Fusion my son had lasted a whopping 3 to 4 years.
The battery in his Compass - 4 years.
Heard customers in a parts store complaining of batteries "not going over 4 years these days".

Ask Chevy and Ford owners about bubbling paint.

Bottom line - not sure there's a common issue to these.
The 2020s seemed to have more cam issues than usual.
The 2021s had right axle seal leaks.
I've not seen anything common on the 2022s yet.
The axle seal leak thing is being dealt with by FCA.
IF an engine has made over 60,000 miles, chances are the cams are fine. Most failures were early on and by now most should be worked through that problem.

Same. It’s annoying as hell.

Other known issues with the 3.6 Pentastar:

If you can get a look at the valley below the intake plenum, look for oil leaking here. The oil filter and cooler housings are plastic and a common problem with age on the Pentastar engines is leaking oil from the oil filter housing.

Look for engine missfire code history. This is generally the first indication for the VVT cams prematurely wearing out. This is another common problem with the Pentastar engines, and NO IT WAS NOT FIXED!

My 2020 sport S with 4.10 gears, and put on skinny 35's at around 12,000mi, is now at 109,800. I have only done the regular book maintenance and had to swap both batteries once. I'm sure the Florida heat don't help those batteries at all. Almost every vehicle I have had in florida I am changing batteries every 3-5 years.

All in all my Gladiator has been pretty reliable.

81k miles on my Sport S 20' , 4 years, 2 months of use, and most of it in the time driving around the Rio Grande Valley in south Texas. I recently move from 285/75/R17 in OEM wheels (33.8x11.2) to 35x11.5, and the 4.10s in my max tow still handle them as a champ (Evidence attached), with is respective Tazer configuration.

Issues
-Change both batteries by warranty 3 times.
-Bubbles around the doors hinges
-Front Fender Flares will take a tiger pattern when they get faded by the sun.
-Issues with the AMP Regulator sensor (68289207 AB) at 56k, have changed it 4 times since then, when it has happened , it start failing while running, lights start flashing as it Christmas and then stalled out. Its seems to be an issue with the revision of the part number, A,B,C. (Video Attached) (And yes a case was created with Jeep customer services, follow up with a lot of calls and emails, but did not had a proper resolution since I was out of warranty, just have been changing this part for a newer version every time that fail, and now seems to be working fine)
-As Jeep nature, 4 windshields :like:, in my experience don't mind to buy Jeep Corning Gorilla Glass, yes, more resistant material, but same shape at the same angle, so same results, had 2 and when they cracked the area around the crack deform the vision more than regular windshields. Just as other members here have said, accept your faith and replace once you are not able to see for the amount of cracks in the windshield ?.

In most of the analyses, auto specifications comparison, and financial health, It does not make a sense to buy a Jeep. However, its worth every penny for the adventures that you can live , and the joy that you can give and have with others ?.

I don't think 60k miles on a 2020 model is high mileage. Then again, I drive mine daily, so ...

Then why are the vast majority of posts about cam issues related to 2020 model year?
You don't see later 2021 models or 2022 model owners talking of the cam issues like the 2020 model year owners did.
Gather up all the complaints about cams for 2020 model year then go gather the numbers for 2022 model year (or even 2023)
You just don't see them.
The complaints about the cams for the 2020 models started about the time I joined here - and most were low miles trucks - so we can't use the argument that "2022 models don't have enough miles yet" because yeah, they do. The 2020s failed with mileage well under 15,000 and you can bet most 2022 model year JTs now have at least 10,000 or more.

-Change both batteries by warranty 3 times.
3 times is terrible luck considering some run through warranty without battery replacement.
Luckily southern Texas doesn't usually get hot enough to cause any battery problems. ?

Considering a 2020 model can be 4 years old and the average miles driven per year is something between 12 and 15K (I'll say 13,500 to be safe) "typical" or average would be roughly 54,000.
So depending on when that 2020 model was made, it's high average or low average but not high mileage for the age.
I'd consider it pretty normal if I was looking to buy used, average for the most part.

The VVT cam issue is not just a gladiator issue. It is common to the engine across all fiat products. There are tons of YouTube posts for them. They are literally the #1 engine issue for Pentastars.

Fiat, has no plans to fix this issue. They have given up and plan to replace the engine to a straight 6. Why would they suddenly spend to fix the design at the end of the product lifecycle.

you can continue to stick your head in the dirt and claim “not me”, but that won’t change the fact that if you own the truck long enough they will fail!
