I was brought up to have multiple skillsets so I would not be a one trick pony.

Same with me. Construction back ground but was a maintenance tech for a shoe company fixing machine for a few year. I tell my employees learn one skill really well because most will cross over to something different.

Agreed, but there is a certain aspect of Jeeps that I never got with any other car or truck. I've recently owned a Maverick and a Canyon and not to far back an F 150...my interest/ pleasure in those vehicles died quick, they just became appliances. I have a 3 year old JL I still stop and look back at it in a parking lot.

I had to sell my gladiator since my wife wouldn't learn stick and we have a baby on the way. I'm back in my old f150. I miss the gladiator way more than I thought I would. Already saving to hopefully get a 4xe version in a year or two

Worst part is she agreed to try once and didn't even stall it the first time! We were up and rolling and then she panicked when coming to a stop and refused to ever try again. She did the hardest part perfectly!

Becoming proficient with a baby in the back might feel too daunting.

I tried to teach my wife and she dumped the clutch at 2000rpms in my Z06. I gasped and there was some crying involved so she never tried again.

Do you sincerely think that a Gladiator (I’m assuming Rubicon) is too much money at $53k? I get it if you are saying all vehicles are overpriced. If you’re talking about a JTR specifically, though, $53k is just about the cheapest way to get a Jeep that wears the “Rubicon” stickers.

And a Jeep that wears those stickers is far more capable than nearly any other truck in the segment as far as 4WD capability.

If thats the case, what brand new from a dealership vehicle isn’t too much for you?

This is one of the few advantages living in an underdeveloped country where more or less everybody is learning to drive on a manual car ...

My deepest sympathy for beeing forced to sell this great vehicle and I cross my fingers that you will be able to purchase a Gladiator again in the near future (with a big discount).

I do wish I had learned how to drive a manual earlier in life. There have been vehicles that I really wanted, but once I saw the manual shifter knob, it was such a let down. I know it is never too late, but I don't want to be that guy who holds up traffic haha.

I had to teach myself when I was 13. Dad wouldn't drive me to the skatepark, and said I could drive myself, thinking I wouldn't actually do it because the Accord was manual. I figured it out.

No one wants to be first to reach a deal so that the deal cut can be used against the other two surviving companies. also frankly I think the big 3 could give a shit less about making a deal quickly because they all have 200-500 day inventory, and with interest rates, if their sales slump during the strike they’ll blame the strike when they release their shareholder news, instead of what it really is, overpricing, interest rates and economical factors

Seen the "strike cycle" happen almost 20 times.
Not going to make any paid political announcements.
I will say that they have had 200 day inventories in the past on a few occasions...but a 500 day inventory? Never happened.

If the car companies had that much in inventory at this time the unions would not be on strike, they would be all laid off.

Had to teach myself also. First car was a 5 speed Toyota celica. Was a mistake though should have bought the cj. Listened to my parents.

I can top that, learned at 12 years old to drive a ford f100 with a 3 on the tree. For you youngsters, the shifter was on the column and only had 3 forward gears and one reverse. If you could drive one of those, you could drive anything. Sure glad my father made me learn to drive on it.

I had at least 4 3 on the tree's. A 63 Ford Falcon, a 66 Ford Econoline, a 64 AMC Rebel and 77 Chevy van. Then there were countless floor shifters. 10 years of stop and go rush hour Boston traffic cured me of the manual transmission for my daily drivers.
