So I am trying to lift my JT a little bit, it's my daily drive so I want something to go on trails but that can take a highway everyday, I been thinking with a 3" lift or what you recommend? The other thing is that I would love doing some good trails

best, how about clayton lift or rock crawler lift with SDI E-click shocks. That is about the best you can get for versatility. I would avoid lower control arms that are adjustable and look for a kit with lower control arms that are set to a fixxed length for the size of lift you go with.

This will cut down on maintenance items to keep an eye one. I would also avoid control arms with fancy extra flex joints as those will become maintenance items too.

In no particular order:

Clayton
AEV
Rock Krawler
Currie / RockJock
EVO Manufacturing
Metalcloak

I went with a Clayton 2.5" Ride Right. I thought it was one of the best values for something in that lift height.

Thanks for the recommendation, you think if i go 3" it can be a problem or that i would need extra parts.

This is what I consider the minimum parts for around 3" of lift:

Springs (front and rear)
Shocks (front and rear)
Sway bar links (front and rear)
Track bars (front and rear)
Adjustable upper or lower control arms (front)

You can use 3" spring spacers instead of coils, but that is a pretty tall spacer. You won't gain any spring travel like you would if you used longer springs instead.

You can use shock extensions, but similar issue as if you keep stock coils. You aren't gaining any shock travel like you would if you swapped to longer shocks.

You could keep the stock length sway bar links, but your sway bars will not be as effective and you risk the sway bar inverting during down travel.

You could keep the stock track bars if you're ok with the axles being off center. It will still align and track fine, it will just be off visually.

And lastly, you could keep the stock control arms, but you'll have caster that is lower than ideal. You could also solve this with control arm brackets instead of adjustable arms.

If you want to retain the factory ride, you can't go wrong with the 2" AEV spacer lift and its very friendly to the budget. Can in stall it at home in 4-6 hours depending on how much bullshitting and beers you consume.
