I'm looking at an after market bumper and winch and thinking about the added weight. And it occurred to me that the Diesel engine weighs a whole lot more than a winch and bumper would. Does Jeep do anything different suspension wise to compensate for the Diesel engine weight?

Thanks... I can address then if I feel too much weight is being added by any after market bumper/winch I might put on... May be no need but would rather know.

The bump stop tubes are also longer which limits up travel by about 1.25”…. Easier to bottom out.

on my jeep I did the 2” Mopar lift, and purchased some metal cloak bump stops but I trimmed them to make them shorter and heat sealed them. I no longer bottom out if hitting speed bumps too hard.

Some aftermarket spring suppliers (Clayton for one, probably others) offer heavier spring rates for diesel vs gas. I certainly bottomed out a lot up front when stock. I went with Clayton diesel "3.5 inch" front springs, which actually lifted the front 5 inches (which I find a bit excessive). Haven't bottomed out yet though lol

If you want to raise the front up 1" or so. I have a set of Clayton diesel springs I'll sell you for $100 plus shipping. I was the beta tester for these springs. They are a stiffer spring rate than stock. These were on my JTRD.

If you want to stay at oem height. You will bottom out more with the winch and bumper.

Which springs do you have ? 2.5 / 3.5 ?

Wow, getting a winch on the "winch ready" bumper is getting expensive. NOW looks like I'm going to need new springs?

New front springs may not be needed. Take the advertised weight of the winch and mount plate you're interested in, place roughly that amount of weight atop your front bumper, then measure to see how much it does (or doesn't) squat the front of your truck.
