I just wanted to see what the first few must haves to get. I haven’t had a jeep in about 5 years and now I’m in a position to finally get another one after driving a 2005 Honda CRV for the last 5 years. And help would be greatly appreciated.

Congrats on the pending purchase, and getting back in a Jeep.

I would suggest any must haves depend on your intended usage.

I bought my Gladiator for truck duty, it will remain mostly stock.
When I bought my JKR I intended it for desert exploring, I began exploring the desert to see how it did and get an idea of what I wanted to change.

I ended up with a winch and a small lift, the lift was more to make it ride and handle better.
I carry a shovel, ax, high lift jack, tow strap and tree protector.

So far I've needed the shovel once.

CONGRATS! You've scored a nice Rubicon, so you're pretty well equipped already!

#1 - mudflaps to keep that paint nice. (I did weather tech). Even after ONE outing, there were chips in the paint.
#2 - tools and recovery gear if you are going to do any significant off-roading.
#3 - if off-roading (especially by yourself or with one vehicle) a new front bumper and a winch
#4 - again, if off-roading, consider 35" tires. Not necessary, but I want the look and the extra clearance.
#5 - the list becomes endless..... :). JEEP = Just Empty Every Pocket.

Enjoy and have fun with the new Gladiator!!!

I’ll stay away from recommending off-road mods for now, that’s a whole different monster.

I vote buying a stubby antenna as soon as you can. No real reasons to do it other than it looks cool and it won’t flap around in a car wash.

oh yea, that’s a beautiful Jeep btw. Nice find.

Drive it and enjoy it for now, it is super capable as is.

DO NOT keep checking the market value of it for trading in.

Merry Christmas!

Depends who you ask
Exactly what Alextude said. Drive it and use it for a while. These are very capable stock you may not need anything. Though the mudflap and door guards were the first things I got right away and a set of weathertech floor protection thingys oh and a tonneau cover.
