Stock status is backorder across all vendors I've reviewed. Besides I'd have to buy it out of pocket if I did not wait for their process .....

I see why you’re confused. Looking up the part numbers, the axle shafts part number appears to be wrong. The axle part number is for a “service rear” and the $2,035 MSRP seems low for a housing, locker, ring and pinion, and whatever else is included.

I brought my car into the dealer to discuss the loud whining coming off the rear end of the car and they told me they have to replace the complete rear end. Under Warrantee thanks!

However I have been waiting over a month to get the differential piece. They have the axles and parts but no housing!!! ARG!!

Totally sucks and I cannot see any recourse except hurraying up and waiting .....

Anyone else have issues like this with the rear end?

@JeepCares
Well, my wife had a problem with her rear end, but it didn't take a month to fix. Although, it wasn't screaming but it was making a funny noise.

Yeah, I know, I'm not helping.

Ran out to my car and grabbed the paperwork. This was ordered one October 20!!! Albeit during the strike ....

They confirmed "noise is coming from Rear Differential - recommend replacing differential"

Next note stated they ordered:

2 Each 1025749 Shafts
1 Each 68474259AA Axle

Who knows what the hell I will end up with!! Except the time frame is killing me so far!! Over 2 months!!

Thank you all for your support and notes. Greatly appreciated.
Maybe @AllMoparParts.com can help.

Swapping out axle assembly then moving brakes over is likely a cost saver. I know I would rather change a complete axle assembly than setup a ring and pinion gear set.
There should be a substantial stock of refurbished ones by now after the number of one that got swapped for leaking right side axle shaft seals during the first couple of years. I'm sure that definitely did add to this being "the S.O.P." as a quick fix.
Not helpful to your problem. ? But hopefull. That definitely sounds like a ring and pinion problem though so a new assembly would be faster and better option. You likely know that already

Thank you all for the support.

I went down to the dealer today and reviewed everything with the parts manager.

All the parts except one came in 6 weeks ago!! The actual part missing was a F$%#^$ few quarters of lubricant!!! Gotta love these dealers.

The parts manager was apologetic and tore up a few employees this morning. January 2nd my baby goes in and I'll hope for the best. I did change up gearing so I have no idea if they are replacing all that as well!

Considering it's all under warranty, I didn't want to start a fuss about the gearing .... definitely cheaper than replacing the rear!

So, what's your plan for the gearing? Have the dealer do all the work under warranty and then have the rear end re-geared again?

I'm actually surprised that the dealer has agreed to cover a re-geared rear end running 37s under warranty. The source of the noise is likely the pinion bearings, and the last person to set those up was the shop that did the re-gear.

I had 4Wheel Parts regear the truck a while back with zero issues.

No not the axles .... the diff ....
Regear axles = regear diffs. Same thing.

I was asking because I figured you would've mentioned it in your original post since it is pretty relevant.

Your problem is very likely from the regear.

You got over on the dealer then, that should not have been warranty work if you had regear work done prior.
