I have been having an issue with the heat blasting me on cold mornings (below 30) then turning very cool then back to very warm then cool. This hot blast seems to level out after about the first 20 minutes. For some reason the factory left a big gap between the temperature sensor and the kick panel below the steering wheel. Look below and to the right of the steering wheel and you should see a little set of louvers that is your temperature sensor inlet. If you look inside with a small flashlight when the HVAC system is running you can see a very small fan inside pulling air across the temp probe. My truck had a large gap that let the HVAC pull air from behind the dash so everything had to heat up before it quit calling for large amounts of heat.
I filled that gap with a piece of 1" round foam (water) pipe insulation and it seems to be much better the past few mornings. At least the temperature seems to level out much faster now. I should have taken pics when I did this over the holiday but its to cold out now. You can remove the lower kick panel by just pulling it out, starting at the top and go slow if its cold you might break the posts that the clips are mounted on.
Hope someone finds this helpful if your truck is having the same issue.
