Still want to know why everyone is calling it a 2.5 ton steering setup?
Aren't the ball joints the same size as stock? Where does 2.5 ton even come from?

I just realized we announced this over on the JL forum, but not here :O

For months we have tested different rod ends, and different configurations of this setup...we believe that we have now brought to market THE most economical / cost effective steering upgrade for the JL / JT platform.

2.5 Ton Rod ends
2" OD SOLID 7075 Aluminum Rods. Machined 100% in house
Direct Bolt on, no drilling / reaming
NO BS Warranty

This kit is available NOW (linked below). We cannot wait for you to try our steering, we believe this will be a game changer.

Below are some shots of our test rigs out in Moab last year (driven there and back from the east coast) testing these kits.

These are also eligible for our forum discount code, so dont forget to take advantage of that!

Are they available without branding stickers on them?

When they say “bolt on” they mean it. Fits on max tow with factory wheels and even uses the factory steering damper mount. Great up grade

I still want to know what makes it 2.5 ton? Still sitting on stock size ball joints. Not like the holes magically got bigger to accept larger shafts. Sooo please answer that.

THe taper is the same size yes, but the rod ends themselves are substantially larger than stock JL / JL rod ends, and notably larger than the common '1 ton rod ends' that many JK kits use with rod ends similar to those found on 1 ton GM trucks.

Well I'm a fan. Order came well packaged and everything is very well put together. Not sure if some of the other "more pricey" options come polished or what the extra coin covers but this unit is stout. The only thing I did not get was any type of instructions or link to some online, but there are plenty of tutorials on the U-tube. Mine also came with decals and the tools to attach to my ratchet to torque them down. As for my stabilizer clamp, I also went with the TMR unit and it is SOLID as well.

Nice to see real world install, and no interference with stabilizer relocation like people have noted with the Rock Krawler bars.

Yeah, I was actually worried because the shock body would come real close to the stock tie rod with the Synergy relocation kit, but the TMR clamp gave me plenty of clearance even with the much beefier tie rod.

I did not find the tie rod to be an issue. It clears slightly on hard right turns. The issue for me was the drag link. Terraflex and Synergy track bar bolt mounts both hit along with the Clayton mount on a hard left. I cut the Clayton mount and moved the holes and it was closer, but still hit. I finally made a mount for now. Hopefully the rod ends on this one have more of a bend so it clears.

Edit: after reading more, I need further research before moving to high steer. RK recommends against it until 4.5" lift or higher.

How close are you to the drag link on a hard left turn?

Mine doesn’t get that close and I just added the Clayton mount so I can keep an eye on the torque for my Track bar. (Trying to chase down a light click sound).

I just added the Clayton stabilizer bracket myself so that I can torque the track bar bolt easier so you worried me but I double checked it and I have almost a full inch space between the two.
