I installed the heavily discounted Bestop rack last weekend. For the price I had to try it. Reviews say it creates far too much wind noise, but the noise did not bother me.

Still on the fence about the look. I figured a fairing would help with the ‘Halo’ look sitting on top the JT.

I ordered a universal Yakima fairing which took a lot of modification to make fit. I actually thought about returning it, but had taken the pretty afternoon off and wanted a project.

It all worked out ok. Two things I can say is that there is probably a reason you can’t find a photo of this rack online showing the complete truck with it installed ?. Second the Yakima fairing is complete junk, it is 100% plastic, including the hardware. The fairing box highlights ‘Designed in the USA, Made in China’. If I was the CEO I’d fire the designers well before the makers.

Everything does work well with the sunrider. And if I keep the setup for more then a couple off weeks I’ll figure out a way to black out the Yakima logo.

After the day of winching on Monday, my 50k batteries raised the ole white flag. Start/stop has been unavailable since an hour after the trail. So I bought new batteries and trickle charged them today. I’ll put them in when the weather clears. I got a yellow top for the main and a normal die hard aux 14 for the little baby.

Howdy! New Gladiator owner picked up a Far Out last Thursday and so far installed RSE step sliders (5 hours man, I am slow)!

Baja Designs reverse lights (Tied into reverse circuit and aux switch) auto illumination in reverse or anytime with switch.

A few Amazon interior plastic bits I like in my JL.

And today I installed bed cover and tailgate seal!

Looking at AEV spacer lift and some 37’s maybe. I typically only put in full lifts but this will be 99% street driver for a long while as my 392 is the primary off-roader.

If you have the inclination a pix of the BD lights and how they look at night would be cool.

You might not be done yet. That reservoir Should be oriented up so it doesn’t get hit by anything. It’s a tight fit up there but it does fit without coming into contact with anything. Installed mine bout a month ago.

What is this tailgate seal you speak of?

Tailgate seal

this made a huge difference on my RAM truck getting water in from splashing up while driving in the rain. Not sure the gladiator needs it but cheap and easy to install/ remove.

New Power Stop pads and rotors all around. I hate the torx screw that "holds the rotor on the hub." Stripped one out so I drilled it out.

Bought everything as a kit from an off road online store. They sent the wrong rear rotors, so I had to get a ride to parts store. They only had super premium rotors in stock. At least I won't have to replace them for a very long time.

The store may not honor the rear rotor return, as it was purchased as a kit. Unreal.

Call Powerstop directly. They’ll take care of it. Those rotor retainers come out with heat, and sometimes try tightening a hair before loosening. Don’t use the impact.

Fixed a leak on the passenger door seal, fixed some corroded tail light connectors and installed an OVS Nomadic LTE 180 degree awning.

What works really good is a hand impact driver that you hit with a hammer.

It’s my go to for smaller stuck fasteners. Durable socket or bit in a breaker or ratchet. Then a rubber hammer to the handle.

Working on motorcycles with the Phillips head bolts in the cases. The impact driver was mandatory to loosen them up. I have 3 of them.
