Tire shop noticed today that my 37 Baja boss's with around 400 miles on them are all showing "choppiness" or uneven tread wear on inner blocks. Air pressure is right, alignment is right, no off-roading , no hard acceleration or sharp curves/turns, nothing but easy daily driving.

The choppiness is obvious on a couple of the tires but is present on all of them.

Tire shop offering to warranty them out an put a replacement set on but want me to either go with the same tires or they suggested TOYO's with less mileage warranty.

Does any of this issue with the M/T BB At's sound familiar? Anyone experience this? Really like the tires, so far, but at 400 miles with choppiness showing up already don't know if I would risk it.

I have not owned them - so take my comment with a grain of salt. I was 100% ready to buy a set, but my local 4x4 shop told me that recently they had pulled OFF multiple sets for howling noise - and really advised me to not buy them. Not sure if that's what's going on with yours, but they directed me towards Toyo Open Country AT3's, or I might be leaning towards Falken Wildpeak AT4's - although they are difficult to find right now in 35x11.5/17

Thanks. Mine are quiet as can be, its just the uneven wear on inner blocks.

I guess I should have elaborated - the loud howling came from uneven wear over time. Out of the gate, everyone loved them. Again, this is coming second hand, but it's hard to see multiple people swap out half worn tires because they are just too loud for them to deal with when they still have good life left in them. Whatever.... Being a musician and audio engineer - that was enough to steer me clear of them. Still love the look, and the performance aspects of them. Take it all for what it's worth.

Good to know.

I had them on my Gladiator for 70 000km they did wear a little uneven. But not too bad really. My personal favorite tire is the Toyo open country A/T it is quiet! It wears extremely well, it balances well. The last tires I had on my Gladiator were Toyo 35X11.5R17 given the choice between M/T or Toyo I would go Toyo. They are a great road and dirt tire hands down one of the best A/T tires. I kept the ones from my jeep for my Ineos

I do IT stuff so I can buy Jeep stuff.
I have 37 MT BB ATs with 18000 on them with no issues. Installed in Feb '23

400 miles is an awfully short distance to see wear problems when you've already ruled out all of the obvious culprits like alignment issues, worn suspension components, bad ball joints, improper inflation, etc.

I am happy with the M/Ts on my Gladdy, but if I were in your situation I would probably have a hard time getting over the psychological aspect of having had a bad experience with the M/Ts. I'd probably opt to try the Toyo just so I wouldn't constantly be second guessing the replacement set of M/Ts. (Yeah, I might be a bit of head case on that kind of stuff :) )

I’ve got 10k ish on my 35” BB ATs. They’re smooth and quiet and are wearing perfectly.

How many miles are on your jeep? Maybe you have worn suspension components.

Im not overly worried about another issue with them. I read last month that some people were getting these tires swapped for replacements because they were funky from the factory, not balancing properly, the second set were ok.

I don't want 10-ply tires and toyos are all 10-ply in 37's. Tire shop dude suggested Toyo as well.

Hybrid tires pretty much all do this IMO.
if you want a true “AT” and you’re really focused on road manners and longevity, id recommend the cooper at3 xlt. I run these on my entire work fleet. Superb wear, dead quiet, all terrain enough for lots of use cases

These tires check all boxes. D rated, quiet, aggressive, strong everything, I can't find another tire that fits my application as well. I don't need a mud terrain but anyway you all know what I mean.
