I have a new Willys Gladiator and I was not real thrilled about the Mud Terrian tires because most all of my driving will be on the road. If any off road adventurers, it will be easy trails and dry dirt roads probably. Plus being a older guy on a fixed income, I wanted better gas mileage if possible. So I bought some Falken 265/70R17 AT4/W tires at Discount tire today, in Lebanon, TN. I have had AT3/W Falkens before and they performed well so I figured the upgraded AT4/W's would be as good or better. So far, I like them after 30 miles driven. The price of the tires at Discount Tire was $229.00 a tire. Plus, the $80.00 rebate brings the price to $209.00 a tire before the mounting fees. I am very happy with the deal and am even going back for another tire for the spare! Plus, I will make someone a great deal on a set of the Firestone MT 2 tires with less than 960 miles on them. Looks like a win-win for me. I just wish the Falkens had OWL's, as I like the white letters. Still pleased as heck though!
Thanks, and have a good day!!!

That's a good price. I've seen $300+ each when looking at them.

I agree. I am sure 33, 35, or 37 inch tall Falken AT4/W tires would be more, but this is the size I wanted (about 32" tall tires) to stay close to stock and I think they will work out great! Thanks Andrew!

Well you can't go wrong with those tires. I have them on my Gladiator and Wrangler and they are super awsome on the snow and ice we get up here. 👍

Thanks Steven! I have had the Falken Wildpeak AT3/W tires in the past and for the small amount of snow we did get here, the tires gripped the road very well. I imagine you get some serious snow and ice up in your area, so it is good to know the Falkens are working good for you! I imagine the AT4/W's will perform just as well in the snow as the AT3/W's did for me!

The AT3/W are better for fuel efficiency. The AT4/W weighs something like 7 lbs. more in a 33" tire.

I had read that that the AT4/W Falken Wildpeaks were a bit heavier than the AT3/W's. I can't locate specs right now on the 265/70R17 AT3/W's, but I believe the ones I have at size 265/70R17 115T are about 46 pounds. The Firestone Destination MT2 tires that came on my Willys Gladiator were around 50 pounds. So, I hope to get slightly better mileage. That is the plan anyway!

Thank you for your kind words. If it's okay, we would like to forward your words of praise to the Lebanon store location.

It's a great size; ran that size for couple years. Only went up a size because I got a deal on set of 285/70R17 sized tires.

The 265/70R17 was what was on it when I bought it used few years back. Something about that size being good for hauling, I don't remember exactly how they put that. Someone would need to verify or call bs on that. Just what I was told on why the previous owner had it on there. I liked the size well enough that ran them until they started getting bit worn out before I switched them out.

Thanks for the info! I was trying to stay with a close to stock tire size to help maintain good gas mileage and still have an aggressive enough tire for bad weather road conditions. Plus, if I do ever go off road, I should have good grip there as well with the AT4/W tires. And if I tow anything, a bigger tire like a 35 or 37 would reduce the ability to tow as much I believe. Not sure about hauling as I think a higher ply LT rated tire might be best for that, however your tires might of been a heavier tire in that size anyway. Thanks Again!
