I've had 3.5" Skyjacker gas dual rate coil springs on my diesel to make the suspension a little more dynamic and have tempered it with Falcon adjustable shocks. The ride on and off road has been phenomenal over the past 20+k miles but now it's time to go a little higher with the lift in front and I want to add more support at the same time.

Which are your recommendations?

You could add the JKS adjustable spring seats like I did. This will give you 2" of lift. Plus you get a hydraulic bump stop too.

Interesting concept but I'm ready for some fresh springs. I think it asks a lot of gas springs to support a diesel and on top of that running trails. I'm sure the fatigue is there.
The Skyjacker springs have provided a great ride on and off road but I'd like to try something different if only by comparison.

I paired the JKS kit with 2.5" Clayton diesel springs and got a little over 4" of lift. If I want more lift. All I have to do is loosen up the locking bolt. And screw down the adjusting seat. I could go up another 3" if I wanted too.

I second the JKS acos setup. Pair that with some fresh 3" springs and you would be doing good. I run the JKS kit in the back to. Very happy so far with the performance off road.

The adjustable system sounds great for tuning shock length and ride height but add nothing to suspension travel which is my primary goal.

Are the JKS adjustable front spring seats larger then the stock tube mount where the rubber isolator seats into? With the stock setup I occasionally get some contact with the the inner of the spring so I am a bit worried about going to them.

4.5" springs don't offer anymore travel than 3" springs, unless you are unseating the 3" springs and added limit straps (which I highly doubt as we don't unseat the 3.5" springs running fox 2.0s for 6" of lift even at full droop on our JLUR)? Springs don't add audience travel period, as they would unseat and the suspension would keep drooping if they were too short. Unless you were running such a long spring and no bump stops so coil bond was limiting uptravel, but again I doubt it, especially with a diesel and already extended factory bumps. On the JL/JT platform uptravel is limited by bumpstops and downtravel is limited by shocks. Lift height has nothing to do with it.

There are plenty of others on here that still think that way though. Springs determine ride height and load capacity. They are not the determining factor in compression or droop until you get to the extreme end of performance suspension set ups with long travel shocks, brake lines, abs lines, etc to go with it. Going from a 2" spring with a 2" bump stop spacer and the longest shock you can fit in that compressed length to a 6" spring won't give you any more travel. It will move the travel window from ride height to less droop and more compression but the amount of travel wouldn't change.
