My wife's 22JLUW has it, always. My 23 JTM had it, for about a months after buying it. Then one day it was gone, never to return. If it does come back, I'm not sure I will welcome it home. Who knows where its been.

After doing non-live setting changes (engine off), Are you performing a reboot and those SLEEP cycles?

If you don’t perform a reboot & sleep cycles, the Tazer can do some strange stuff and/or the settings you changed won’t stay ….
I always do the sleep cycles. My issues usually pop up when i trip up the programming accidentally. like double pressing the mute button to get the rear camera up and then going into reverse. that confounds it sometimes. also refueling while the vehicle is on and in 4hi, use to mess it up too. just little things. over time tazer updates slowly takes care of em. Also disconnecting both batteries to do airbag stuff messed up my live settings. so i had to reset then too.

It might have an STD.

My instant mpg took a long walk off a short pier. I even have pictures of it on milk cartons. It's been gone that long.
Milk still comes in cartons?

must be 2024 problem then? my 23" loses instant mpg and does weird honks and stuff occaisonally. full tazer reboot puts it all back
Nope - we've seen it on 21, 22, 23 at least. Many with no tazer.
It's nothing to do with tazer - the proof is that it happens to many with no tazer, or like me, never even own a tazer.

They definitely do. If you watch the bottom left of your headunit. occasionally you'll see script run with bit rates and download speeds and file names being installed.
That's for the radio, according to what I've seen in the Ram forums.
When mine does the screen switch thing - there's not been any update.

This is how it should look -

When the screen switch takes place, the "Current" goes away and the Range shifts to below the mpg scale.

And for those who keep telling us to use the left/right keys - I'll say it again, that's not it at all - nothing to do with that. The screen itself literally appears to be replaced with a THIRD option that doesn't even exist.

Here's the one we mention changes - the normal one we want in place-

And THIS is the other screen if you scroll left or right -

Again - it's not tazer-related. Many (most?) of us don't even own one.

  • It's not tazer
  • It's not a matter of "use the left/right buttons".

There's nothing we can do to "fix it" - normally, except maybe in the case of the old fellow who buys milk in cartons, it will come back.
For me, it usually comes back when I'm on a different screen (like voltage, or MPH or whatever) and then switch back down to the mpg display - like magic, it's back again.
Oddly, it hasn't happened at all in 2024.

If this is the wort bug I have to deal with I'm not going to be stressed about it. Geesh. Read up on some of the the forums and the amount of software glitches they have and it's crazy, not to mention the severe consequences of the issues. I'm reading about bricked cars that need towing due to software update failures.
Dang, somedays I just want an old fashioned keyed ignition and a radio with push button radio presets.

Exactly. I report it or try to explain to the non-believers ("just use the left/right buttons" (most of us have likely already done that) or "it's your tazer" (most don't own one)) so people understand what's really happening. But when mine goes away - I simply figure it will either come back - or not - and I can look at the highway instead of the cluster.

🤣😂 So…we drove 300 some miles up to NY On Wednesday. We had the DIC on the ‘TRIP’ page most of the except towards the end of the trip. My Instang MPG came back…… So, we got to our hotel and parked the JT since. We leave tomorrow morning to head back home. We’ll see if the Instant is still there or not.

Are you sure it's a bug?
Or maybe it's intentional to distract us from real problems? 🤣

Leave it where it is. If you start it up the "Current MPG" might disappear again. ;)

Perhaps there’s a software engineer at Stellantis that has a twisted side and put this bug in there to show randomly. Figure it would drive all the OCD types bonkers. ;)

It's probably programmed to stop displaying after the screen has been active for a while. It's Jeeps way of saying 'You bought a brick on wheels, why are you watching this screen?'
Mad scientists in the back room.

Ok so what does it mean if resetting my tazer has brought it back 100% of the time? Am I just lucky?
