Wait.... What? I guess I shouldn't care since I doubt I'll ever have extra cash to do this, but what's the difference?

And since mine was built Oct 2020, I CAN tune mine?
Sorry for the slight hijack, and I bet that pro charger adds a lot of fun feel till you have to fill it up. I’d prob get into trouble with one lol. Nice write up.

@Apline Warthog check out livernoismotorsports.com If yours has the GPEC2A it can be tuned. They reported GPEC5 in the 21 and newer is a lot harder to crack. I’m planning on doing it to mine as soon as I can since its $700. They will tune for a supercharger as well and even offer a kit but at $7500 for the supercharger its beyond my budget.

I have heard rumors that Livernois Motorsports has cracked the GPEC 5, but no confirmation.

So if you have the GPEC 5 you might give them a call.

Not worried about a hi jack it's what forum are for as long as it's on the same line and not about collecting ducks.

Well I am hoping since it's forced induction off the belts if you drive nice it should gain fuel economy? We'll that's what I told my wife.......................... I would say $7500 msrp plus labor if you don't install yourself, so another $1000 I would bet. Procharger says 40-45% increase power..so 90-120hp gain?

We had a hiccup on the PCM and tune. Working on getting that all done now might be another week. Then I'll get more videos and fuel economy.

Lol pretty much, it definitely is not my daily driver. I have a Ram 3500 and also have work truck, I don't travel much outside of work. Weekends is when I typically drive my Jeep and it's to the woods or short trips around town.
I mean that to say, my unmodded truck (as far as I know since I bought it used) gets that for milage.

If procharger or any other supercharger company wants a 2023 for cracking the gpec5 and prototyping a new kit I volunteer. You will get to prove your kit works at triple digit speeds in the desert and the high velocity mojave will look great in your promotional ads.

I was getting 16mpg with 35s and 4:10 gears. Then went to 38s 14.5mpg and the bead locks and all the extras and 5.38 gears and down to 13.5.

I'll post the gps 1/4mile time after I do the 500 mile break in. It should be an impressive improvement.

It's more about smiles per gallon than miles per gallon.
I hope the 3.6 is up to the challenge, nice work.

I’ve seen/heard nothing but bad things about forced induction on the pentastar engine, hopefully your guys are able to crack the code and it goes well for you.

I've heard both sides and I think it comes down to a few things. Most failures are coming from the valve train and piston from too much pre-detenation. Running the proper tune, colder spark plugs, and friction modifiers in oil. Changing oil at recommended manufacturer intervals Is no more. I've always changed oil at 5k on all my vehicles and now this one will be done every 3k. I will be running the Baxer oil filter mod for added help.

I hope I get the same results as I've heard, 60k miles no issues. We will see how it goes lol.

Your current 0-60 and 1/4 Mike times just prove what I try to tell everyone when they talk about gearing low to gain power back. Even with 5.38s your 0-60 is down over 4s from stock and so is your 1/4 mile. The only way to gain power back after adding weight and large tires is forced induction.

Yep I agree 100%, my build isn't for going fast reason for the 5.38s. I was aware of it before doing it. I don't need to go fast and Adding the Pro charger was for extra smiles. the way I ended up with the kit and doing the install myself made sense to just do it. You gain back low end power with gears but lose your top end.

I will be weighing my Jeep soon to better compare but maybe that is the main reason for your slow times. I regeared to 5.38s on 37s and was 9.07 0-60 with steel wheels. I’m high 8s now on alloy wheels.

I am hoping the supercharger works out well for you! I have heard so many reliability issues so I am hoping you cracked the code! Following as I have been interested in this or a V8 swap. Looking forward to future updates.

Cheers

When I added KMC beadlocks it really slowed it down. 32lbs per wheels and the extra weight I have and 5.38 gears. Perfect storm to go slow lol.
