Co-worker bought a Razer a few months ago and wanted to go to Moab so why not. We've both been to Moab for other reasons throughout the years but first offroad trip. I've planned on an eventual trip since we live a couple hours away so somewhat familiar with expectations.

I have 35's with a rear LSD and a winch so I'm not overly concerned. I did get a receiver skid as well. Beyond that I have two main concerns. First is what his Razer is capable of. It's a four door so longer wheel base which is good. But what can it actually do? I'm going to be stereotypical and at minimum want to do Fins which sounds like he should be mostly fine except the first part which might be tricky. However also if possible Hells Revenge is on the list. I have no issue bypassing obstacles. It does sound though that SxS's tend to struggle. Anyone out there with experience? Other concern is the rain. While Sunday should be decent, rain is forecasted for most of Saturday. Slick rock trails will very likely be a no go. Anything recommended trail wise?

Looking forward to a cool weekend (highs are in the low 60's) and just having fun.

My concerns are for your coworker and yourself, if you’re in the SxS and it rolls over vs. the strength of the factory ROPs. The place is 99% rock. A few months back I was hired by a friend to remove his factory cage that he damaged on his SxS and build him a custom cage for it. I was shocked by the quality of material choice by an OEM for a ROPs on a modern machine capable of extreme speed and offroad agility. Not hardened steel, and really thin wall materials.

Sorry, might not of been obvious but I'll be in my truck. That's unfortunate about the roll cage, he takes it out locally and goes like 60+ over sand/dirt.

In your JT, not much to worry about with a roll cage made of harden Steel, it will kill any drill bits in my tool box.

Tons of sxs do both those trails without issue. The ones that do poorly are consuming too much bud light. Hint. Any is too much until you’re back safely airing up.

Well what a roller coaster the past couple days were. Yesterday he let's me know he can't find a truck to tow his trailer so he'll just ride with me. Then about an hour ago says he can't go. (I'm leaving here soon.) So ya, guess it's just me this weekend. Oh well, I'll still have fun hopefully. 🫠

Alright, knock on wood but pending anything crazy happening in the next 24 hours leaving tomorrow evening. While re-booking the person at the campground said this is actually a really good weekend. Last week was the last busy one of the season and should be very quiet in town. (The campground is practically empty.) Weather looks fantastic so looking forward to a nice weekend.

Sounds amazing. Wish I could be there.

I am debating about Hell's Revenge a little bit. The person with me definitely can't spot and they won't want to drive. Any takes if I should do it? I have no shame in bypassing obstacles and I'm sure there will be some people out there but just want to hear from someone that has done it.

If you’re ok with bypasses you’re fine in a stock rig.

Do Hells Revenge and push yourself to do Hells Gate. It’s a rush.
I love hells gate, but wouldn’t push someone to do it. I’ve let people do it using my Jeep, but I know exactly how it will react, and I can be in there instructing.

If you’re confident in your driving, stay high enough on the passenger side. It needs to be run as a v notch. Momentum is key. Once you start, don’t stop.

Ditto! I really miss Moab! You can’t go wrong with both trails in a Jeep. My work Colorado had no problem, other than a few scrapes underneath and the receiver hitch. You can camp almost anywhere in that area, and I highly recommend out towards the Anticline area of Canyonlands, or the white rim
