I had this grinding noise coming from the rear axle that got louder over time. Went to one shop and still had the noise. Went to my friend at Rugged Revolutions and he found the problem. Apparently, the bearings are notorious for going bad. But thanks to my friend In SC, there is an upgrade.

For anyone that might have this issue or know anyone that might have this issue, Here is the noise, the cause, and the upgrade for it:

How many miles you have on that? 3 thou backlash after break-in and wear is crazy tight. Wonder where it sat from the factory.

I was at 140K when the gears were originally installed back in Apr 2023. But.... I was at 177K back in June 2024 when I had another shop replace the pinion bearing in an attempt to track down the issue. So, about 6k miles.

Man you do some driving!
Yea. Just a little bit. I've been rock crawling and offroading everywhere from VA to TX and in between. I also camp every now and then. Not overland. You have to spend a lot of money to Overland, so I just camp. Lol. I haul and tow pretty regularly. And then daily drive. So yea..... A little bit of driving.😂😂
