Upgrade one thing to be stronger just to make something new the weak point.
Guess I've found my current weak point.
Gonna order the rock sport blacks just for the rears from @Metalcloak
Also need to get 2 new tires as the shock stabbed a hole in my sidewall and another tire has a cut in it now.

Could you give some details on your setup and what led to this happening? I have the same shock and it looks to me like the same control arms as you. Thanks

Going through the desert at about 20-40 mph (nothing it hasn't done before) and I assume the tire hit a rock at speed? This caused the threaded rod to rip out from the axle mount bit which is now smooth inside. Vehicle does live a bit of a hard life but I'd never expected the shock to be the weakest part.

The threads definitely were in all the way before the incident (as far as I know). There was never exposed thread when I got them, after this happened so I saw a bit of green loctite on the shafts that they put on when the shock was made (irrelevant but interesting).

Looks like you may have taken an impact to the shock mount that may have distorted/oblonged the threads that hold the shaft into the mount.

Definitely a possibility, just hard to believe it only hit the bracket. I don't remember seeing damage on the lower part of the silver bit yesterday. More pictures later when I do my full inspection.

I have the Clayton 2.5” Overland Plus and 35’s on my Rubicon Diesel but don’t spend time in the desert. Have you talked with Falcon/Teraflex or Clayton? I would like to hear their thoughts.

When going fast in the desert you 100% need limit straps and properly setup
Limit straps have always been in the plans, they just never left the planning stage as I'm constantly tweaking and adjusting parts

@arosen1997 seems to be a winner since that bracket has a nice bend on one side.

Yeah that's probably what did her in.
Is that an Aluminum piece with a helicoil? Or did the threads just start to tear out when It pulled out?
