I keep lengths of 4x4s around for that sort of use. I have a car by my shop I salvaged some suspension and brake parts from a couple of years back. I have it up on cribbing a lot like he does, alternating layers.
I could work with that guy - he's not taking chances.
His jack is sitting on a very solid, flat support and that padding block is large enough it isn't going anywhere.
Am I seeing things, or does he also have the two stands cabled together?
All of that wood is screwed together and weighs about 120 pounds. One person can barely move it and put it in place. My son and I move it around and then we had to pick up the jack and put it on top of there. Notice the jack stands in the front and in the rear. I think I had around 10 jackstands on it.

Basic maintenance on my 2018 Ford Expedition. Transfer case and oil change. I was overdue on the transfer case but probably more maintenance than most do. I change every 30k miles. I had more than that on this sample.

People who have seen my shop have asked why I have 4 floor jacks and 10 jack stands.......

Glad to see you take such care!

Thank you. I learned when I was 18 years old (in 78) and I had my 70 duster bracket racer fall on my chest from having a cheap jack stand. Lesson learned.

Overrated, we’ve all been 18 before

Amazing how our safety standards change as we age lol. Just like I refused to wear eye pro back in my youth. After numerous ER visits for metal, wood and rust in my eyes........I extracted my head from my ass lol.

This is a great safety picture.
Jack and backup Jack stands on top of wooden blocks
instead of the other way around (except for the one "padding" block).

I had a good friend that worked off of jackstands, installing a lift kit on a Blazer. What you have there is a much safer setup than what my friend used. I almost always use my two post lift now. Even two post lifts can be dangerous if you don't watch what you are doing.

😆 I always forget to take pics when I'm in the middle of the job. I'm usually too busy looking for that damn 10mm wrench!

Go to BleepinJeep, and look at their Work Shirt with the missing 10mm socket on it. hahaha

I made my own Trail Rails. These are the only pics I have of me working. I usually take a pic after completing a step.
