This reminds me of something (non vehicle or Jeep related)….
I belong to a lot of ‘home canning FB groups’…. A new AA Pressure canner is anywhere between $350-$450 depending on the size.

One of the members found a special on Walmart’s website for a canner that was listed as $12. That blew up… most people knew it was fake. But, I was surprised at how many people didn’t have a clue and would fall for it. 🙄
A bunch of us ordered it anyway just to see what would happen. 😂
I used a gift card that had $25 on it, so it wasn’t attached to any of my regular credit cards.

A few of the members (early on) got gag items….I think one person got a gas mask 🤣 Somehow, there were tracking numbers created….. After a few weeks, Walmart caught on….. they must’ve seen the hundreds of orders for this $12 canner that didn’t exist and the ‘fake’ tracking information (from overseas). Some folks got charged and had to chase after Walmart for refunds. My gift card was never charged, cuz I went out and spent all $25 of it immediately after the tracking number was created. 😆

The tricky ways that companies / dealerships have to stoop to such tactics to get you in the door AND the fact that people are lured soooo easily by FREE or cheap stuff - is truly amazing.

Retired. Beach bum.
While the truth about this deal is debatable. My wife and I bought a 2024 Sport S, hardtop, automatic with rear cross traffic alert with all LED lights except head/fog/front turn and drl. Plus heated seats and steering wheel, adaptive cruise control that’s amazing in bumper to bumper traffic at all speeds, plus auto stop. With UConnect 4 G LTE WIFI HotSpot. In Chrystal Granite Metallic and matching alloy wheels. No Max Tow, so only 1,140 lbs payload, with 245/75-17 HT tires that all together offers a great ride, nice handling especially in moderate heavy rain. The MSRP was $51,600, with a $15,000 discount came to $34,400 out the door including an extended warranty 84mo/100,000 miles!

I saw a similar price for a sport, around 27k here in Alabama. That got me into the dealership and then after considering it I upgraded to a Sport S for another 3k. They tried to tie my price to my trade in and I haggle for 4 hours. Told them my price and just sat and waited. Eventually got the sport s for 34k.

Is that with tax too? If so seems like more then 20k off assuming the warranty was around 2k and taxes another 2k. That would be like 40% off MSRP. Where was this at? 40% would get me to buy today

Someone should call and try to buy it. They probably bundled all incentives which no one will qualify for.
back in August I got 34% on a ‘23 rubicon sticker $61K paid $40K plus tax but this other deal seems way to good to be true.

You lose the 15% off though. It‘s one or the other. If your credit is bad enough that your rate would override the 15% off amount, you won’t qualify for the 0% :)

I buy most of my motor oil on sale or clearance. Follow a few related forums for breaking news on those sales and clearance items. Most time it is either Amazon or Walmart online with some pretty good deals that sometimes are pricing mistakes either by them or sometimes the third party sellers on those sites. Both Amazon and Walmart have pretty good buyers protection for refunds if the third party sellers do not come through. So sometimes, it is worth the risk to throw the dice on some "to good to be true" pricing because they will make it right either way.

I’d agree with that…...Because it was thru Walmart, I felt ‘safe’ to buy it **for the hell of it** to see what would happen.

The last time I shopped Walmart (online), the return process was a royal pain in the ass. They wouldn’t refund the credit card, but only give store credit and they made it impossible to ‘access’ or use it. But that was years ago…. I’m sure the process is much better now. I’ll stick with Amazon….😉

This Jeep is marked as sold through Jeep.

If you follow up on the ad, the dealer will tell you to come down. They'll tell you that the Jeep is on the website, but they can't find it. When you get there, you'll show them the ad, they'll pull it up on the website, and say that price is listed wrong on the website, and they'll blame the website provider (they don't do the website themselves).

You'll argue that the price is listed and they have to honor it. They'll scroll to the bottom of the page and point to the "Pricing provided may vary significantly between website and dealer as a result of supply chain constraints. Pricing shown is non-binding and does not constitute an offer. Contact your dealer for updated vehicle pricing" disclaimer.

Then they'll try to sell you a Gladiator for a "good price" since you came down. They'll be very apologetic...

To date, Walmart has not done me dirty. Did have some hiccups on a few cases of oil being split up between being shipped by FEDEX and a few that were supposed to be local store delivery but came through in the end. Did have one third party seller on Walmart ship only one quart of gear fluid when it should have been a case of 4ea. Walmart refunded me and I got to keep the one quart for free.
