Rhino-Rack Backbone & Pioneer with Bestop Sunrider

I installed the rhino-rack backbone and a pioneer platform on my rig today. This is the 36"x56" platform on the backbone with the RCL legs--this configuration works with the Bestop sunrider!

Overall, fairly simple install...just tedious--and triple checking everything before drilling. I still need to adjust the lightbar brackets to clear the sunrider more and run wiring...but so far, very happy.

I’ve been looking at exactly this setup. Are you able to still open the sunridder with the 36x50? Any issues with stability in the sunridder or external wind noise?

Zero issues clearing the sunrider fully open. I did end up removing the lightbar—it was a hold over from my old JK and didn’t need it with the bumper lights—plus, I didn’t want to run the wiring up to the roof.

I don’t get any noticeable wind noise from the rack over the rear of the hardtop with the sunrider on.

Thank you. Appreciate it. I’ve been looking at doing this exact system but haven’t found anyone with a sunridder that’s actually opened it with the rack on.. Rhino rack didn’t even want to acknowledge using the 36x40 vs the standard one when I called them. They only recommended the bigger size and not use or open the sunridder. Anyhow thank you and keep us informed if any issues come up.
