Finally decided to snag a jeep up. Have been saving and waiting for a long time. Glad to be apart of the community!

Any advice for a first time jeep owner? Would be great to hear from all the folks on this. I primarily want to start learning how to off-road properly and get some experience in that, as well as camping and such. I’m pretty sure this jeep is built for the off-roading vibe. Will be changing some small things with but I gotta say I’m a huge fan of er.

Find a local group and get out there. Let em know you are new to it. People love to help. Friendliest people in the world are found on trails.

Don't fall into the trap of changing stuff till you have some time with it.
I see you are in Florida. If you are mid.state. hit ocala forest. The main trail is great for first timers.

Enjoy!

Get rid of the 20s and get better tires if you’re wanting to start off roading also it seems you have a rough country lift. You may want to consider a better quality lift kit for future. Ps the angry bird grille sends chills down the backs of true jeepers.

Those tires are fine for dry sand. Get out and enjoy it.

Mud might be too much but still lots of fun to be had in sand.

Welcome! Great looking Jeep. I’m partial to the bright white. Mine is the same color. ScottBeach offered great words of wisdom.

First, take stock of what was done before it was yours.

Second, kinda like several have said, consider your wheels and tires for your area and what you intend to do.

Do you have any suggestions for wheel and tire combo?

Was looking at getting the 17s on there just not to familiar with pairing these things up for off roading.

100% changing the front grill at some point

Really depends on what your off road plans are. Overlanding, mud, rocks ? Definitely a 17 wheel. Possible beadlock if you’re going on the rocks. Being in Florida prob not gonna see many rocks unless you’re traveling. Most importantly a 17 wheel and a D rated quality tire

I really like the '24 grills too and ended up buying an aftermarket one on eBay that'll need the trim pieces to get painted black to match mine. Since then (yesterday), someone posted you can get pre-painted ones from eBay too for only around $50 more. About $230 for the gloss black one. Not bad for OEM style which is my preference.
Looks like the Bright White ones are more expensive:

Welcome to the obsession 🤣 don’t get carried away too soon. Drive it a few times. Wheel it a few times, and then see what upgrades you really need 🤣. My wife hates when I say that I need something else…….
But, when recovery starts at $2k (Needles District) she understood the “need” for a wench…. I mean a winch. I just traded up for a new Mojave, and will be adding some different things now that we moved from Colorado to Florida and actually have different “needs”
