I would like to add a 115v bed outlet, have looked at several Utube videos. My dash appears to have a pop out filler plug that I would remove to install the dash switch. Are Mojave’s pre wired where that is plug and play? The bed switch and wiring harness to power the switch seems to be all I need to add the plug. Am I missing anything?

If you have the factory installed inverter and outlet on the back of the center console, you should be able to add the outlet to the bed.

Contact @AllMoparParts.com with your VIN number. They sell a kit for this that's around $350.

Assuming we meet the criteria mentioned above, do we have to run wire from the front to the rear or is that already in place?

Thanks for the info. They lost me at pulling the whole dash off. :)
That's on a 2023 or earlier. I'm not sure how the switch is placed on a 2024 or later. The 2023 kit comes with the entire panel but the 2024 kit comes with only the switch. I haven't been able to find any install instructions yet but I'm sure they're not too far away from being posted. I'm waiting, like you, to see if the 2024 install doesn't require taking the entire interior of the Gladiator apart. 🤣

Well, I tried a shortcut that I found on Reddit. Someone suggested taking off the JL/JT trim piece under the lights and fishing for the wires. That doesn't work. The harness is behind the kick speaker enclosure. So I searched for a way to remove the kick speaker and, as far as I can find, that also requires removing the dash on all JLs.

The 24 should be similar to the 23 and earlier. The wire behind the light switch your fishing for is taped to the headlight switch wire. I was able to use a flashlight and use some long (10”) long needle nose pliers to find the wire. It’s taped up to the headlight wire about 4”-6” behind the plug. I was able to gently pull on the plug and separate it from the tape and pull it thru a crack in the dash.

I was wondering if that could work. Some questions if you don't mind.

On the 2024 how did you get the cover that plugs the switch hole off? By "crack in the dash" do you mean the switch hole?

I already own the following tools, do you think any of these can work without taking the whole dash apart?
11 in., 45° Long-Reach Pliers
11 in. Long Reach Needle Nose Pliers
10 in. Long-Reach Pistol-Grip Pliers

Thanks much.

Thanks! I'm going to pull that cover off and look more closely. I've been looking for a reason to buy an inspection camera. Ames is decent and I have a 15% off coupon at Harbor Freight. I'm going to ignore the fact that I have both a telescoping and adjustable inspection mirror ($4) to justify the cost. 🤣

Maybe I'll be able to use it to find every damn 10mm socket I've lost! 😂

Here's the Reddit post with pictures. A thin pry tool will remove the JL/JT trim piece.

Okay, I should have filmed this but I need three hands to do this job (not sure where the other hand come from). But you can take off the light switch cover and take out the light switch. Then the JL/JT trim piece. Note that the pins are metal. To be honest, it scared the hell out of me prying them out. You'll need a thin pry tool for all three pieces. The trim piece coms off easily. The light switch cover and switch are another matter. The cover comes off easily but the clips inside make a horrible sound. I thought I was breaking something. There are four clips in the switch and very little room to pry. I suggest staring at the bottom right. It's the hardest to get loose. Pry it out and get a Tim pry tool under the clip, then the top right because the fit is tight and you'll have to move the switch down to get the top clip past the cover. It's easy and doable if you know that they're not the regular clips like on the rest of the trim.

When I got mine open... NO OUTLET WIRE! Ugh! I was under the impression that if you had a 115v outlet in the center console that you had an inverter and the wires were there.

I have been betrayed...

Interesting. In that second to last picture I was expecting to see the wire you need taped to the headlight switch wire. I wonder if they changed it or if it just taped back even further.

@NULL POINTER I used trim piece removal tools to pry off the trim pieces and switch.
