I’ve seen a lot of ads and tons of YouTube videos comparing different glass coatings. I’m a bit of a cleanliness freak, especially when it comes to keeping the Gladiator front windshield and side windows clean. The side windows, surprisingly, get really dirty. If any of you Gladiator owners have figured out which coating sheets water off and doesn’t leave wiper haze, please let me know!

My husband is a clean freak also….He has a new BMW that he keeps up with.

He’s gone thru various products… He would NOT recommend GYON VIEW - That stuff was supposed to last 2 years, but it hardly did anything after we applied it on the Jeep. Granted….is it because the Jeep windshield has no slant (straight) and the water can’t bead off as easily?

He’s been using ”Ultra Glaco” on his BMW and he loves it. Amazon has all the stuff (products needed for application).

But again….the BMW windshield allows for the water to bead off easily because of the slanted nature of it.

Do any of the above recommendations help keep bugs off the windshield. In the summer I can't even drive to Walmart or Lowes without getting 27 bugs on the windshield.

I highly doubt there's anything that'll keep the bugs off.......... I mean... Bug hits the windshield and there's splatter - that's not going to magically disappear.

The key ....is finding a product that'll make it easier to clean them off - and ideally - as soon as you hit the windshield washer. Bugs are not created equal....they all have their 'signatures' - some easier to clean than others. 😂

Bummer. Do you happen to have a picture of the bottle you used? It’s hard to figure out their product line.
It was actually a packet that they discontinued for some reason. Not sure why or if it was a limited time deal, but I would look at Adam’s, Gtechniq, and Gyeon coatings. They all have glass specific coatings. The most important part for performance, as with any coating, is in the prep work. I #0000 steel wooled my windshield with isopropyl alcohol, wiped clean, then cleaned again with distilled water diluted iso, then applied the coating. Let it “flash” for the specified time, and then buffed clean with a few fresh lint-free microfibers. On most of these coatings, they suggest you allow the application area to remain in a dry environment for a minimum of 24 hours for best results. If you see any of these well known detailing chemical brands with sporadic bad reviews, it likely boils down to user error in their cases. I’ve worked in professional detailing as a hobbyist/weekend warrior for many years and user error is almost always the case with a failed coating of any kind, although there are definitely exceptions to that.

I've used the glass sealant from Griot's Garage for several years on a variety of cars. If you follow the instructions, it works really well and lasts as long as Rain-X or longer. {Obviously less time if the vehicle sits outside instead of a garage}
