I bought my 2021 willys gladiator 1 month ago. It had 28100 miles on it. Now it has 30800 miles. Loaded. I wanted a convertible but needed a truck. WIN WIN. I started hypermiling it. Shift into neutral on all down hills, I do the speed limit, 65 on interstate, locked in CC in 8th gear. I think I confused the computer. You can see in the pictures for my proof. I hopped in and gas gauge said LOW, 15 MILE RANGE. So I filled up. It took 18.1 gallons. I got 367 miles on that 18.1 gallons. It said my new range was 405 miles. Im pretty sure i could get 425 to 450 miles using a FULL TANK OF FUEL. The actual 22 gallons. Anyway, I am running the AT tires at 37psi. I am loving these numbers. And yes, I do take it off road, no rock crawls, just hills, mud and dirt. I am absolutely loving this vehicle. And this is my first Jeep. I just turned 55.

The speed limit on the interstate where I live is 80 mph. If I drove 65 mph I would create a traffic hazard, as well as take all day to get anywhere. At the speed limit here our JTM only gets 14 mpg, which is the same gas mileage our JLUR 392 gets at that speed. So, congrats on the great gas mileage with your JT. Our JT is my wife's daily driver. She loves it, but says it is the worst gas hog she has ever had. I'm ok with gas mileage at this level. A lot of people get excited about gas mileage, but It doesn't even matter in the grand scheme of things. Gasoline is a small expense compared to the other things that siphon away your money, (such as taxes).

I don't care about mpgs much until I'm on a long trip, especially if it's to areas that skyrocket fuel prices. It's been an adjustment to take 3000+ mile trips when getting 10mpgs less than my previous vehicle.

And to think if you would have gotten a diesel

Disingenuous. You're not getting 35 mpg. I can reset the lie-o-meter on my 3.6 gas engine and do the same thing as you did here. With the tank full, your range is only showing 452, because your Jeep knows you are getting roughly 20 mpg.

@WILLYS21GLAD 20mpg is not hard. The difference between 20 and 14 mpg is pedal actuation and maybe a few mph. It definitely drops with speed increases. My 2020 Rubicon with 34" A/T's averages 19 mpg with mixed driving. 21-22 mpg is possible on long trips.
If you are towing or running any extra wind grabbing accessories, you may notice an increase in mpg with higher octane gas. I notice a 1.5 mpg increase when towing our 16' camper with better fuel. It also moves the sweet spot from 63 mph to about 71 mph.

Not sure where you are in Pa., but let us know if you want to do stupid things with it. I like rocks.

My hypermiling gets me around 14 mpg. This is around town mileage where 80% of my driving is done. I have seen 20.5 on trips with solid freeway driving. I would not consider the Gladiator a hypermiler. I agree 20 mpg with a Gladiator is very good. You being happy with your Gladiator is what counts!

I get 19-20 on mixed driving especially if the majority is around 60mph for the majority of the tank. When I hit 80 with the hills it drops. I'm on tiny KO2 37's, but I will take 19-20.

I used to average 26.8 in the city and 30 and change on the highway before mods. Now I average 24ish highway and 20 city. Not the lie-O-Meter. I was over 100 miles into that tank. Granted it was from Flagstaff to Albuquerque. Slightly downhill about 6' per mile. Went a half tank from Flagstaff to Albuquerque. Filled up and was still getting over 30.

I went and picked up an Aluma MC10 trailer on Friday in Ohio. 180mi each way with heavy winds for about the last 25% of the way to it (no trailer) and got 17.5mpg there. That was with cruise at 70 on I-80 and my helping it here and there stay in 8th gear.

I have 35's and a 1.5" spacer lift and .75" spacer lift in rear. Trailer only weighs #525. But didnt even notice it was there really.

On the way back I got 16.5 mpg with the last 50-60% in heavy winds w/trailer attached. Temp was 75-78 the whole trip.

I have to say that 17mpg round trip and 16.5 with a trailer in heavy winds for the majority of the trip isn't bad.

The diesel also has a smaller tank than the gasser. 20mpg in the diesel would be really disappointing if stock.

So you all missed the point. My truck said fill up. You have 18 miles left. You are on E. My truck lied to me.

How were you over 100 miles into that tank but the fuel gauge still reads 100% full? 🤔

Because I calculated with a full 18.3 gallon tank of fuel like you had in the picture and 452 miles of range would put you somewhere at about 25mpg. not hating btw, just genuinely curious!

I squashed my fuel tank once, the gauge was wrong then too.
