Having lived in the PNW and the desert SW I would avoid that magnifying glass roof. Used to have a couple of cars with a panoramic sunroof and one a long time ago with T-Tops. They are nice in moderate temp areas but suck in really hot or really cold places. And a big ass removable glass panel is a shatter waiting to happen. I know from experience about glass removable tops and the look of despair when you’re left holding a very expensive broken piece of junk.

In cold temps they really add to the meat locker feel inside and are prone to dripping condensation on your head when you’re running the heater in really damp cold weather. Glass sweats quite a bit more than composite hard top panels.

In hot temps if you haven’t invested in a quality tint that blocks 99% of UV rays your noggin will feel like a roast chicken under a heat lamp. Even with that a few hours riding around in the desert sun will have you rethinking that choice in tops just from the amount of heat radiating through the glass.

Solid material is always better than transparent for blocking UV rays and maintaining cabin temps. And you will very likely find a need for at least a mesh sun shade under that thing for any drives over an hour.

So its already costing more than advertised because you need to buy the storage bag to protect that big ass piece of glass. And you have to buy a sun shade for underneath the terrarium cover so it doesn’t cause brain damage to the occupants on a late summer drive.

Pass - compared to a sunrider, not a good product idea

I had to put louvers on my hatch back and install heavy tint on the small sun roof on my SX4. Otherwise it was a damned greenhouse in there.

The only way I'd want a huge sunroof like that is if I could have a shade that covered it like real ones do.

And you will very likely find a need for at least a mesh sun shade under that thing for any drives over an hour.
Heck yeah. With the panels out of my JT my head baked. Even just a few minutes was a bit much on a summer day.

Yeah, I don't like convertibles in the sun for long. When I had the top off my old CJ5 I'd always have the bikini top on to stay out of the sun. Otherwise it sucked. And I was young back then.

I wasn't planning to buy one, but it is very cool to see this kind of innovation.
Yeah it definitely needs a darker ceramic tint or a collapsible/ retractable screen.
My gf has a cherokee limited with the full glass roof, Never had an issue dripping.
I do agree, the bag should be included. Who wouldn't want the bag?
overall I think this is a great innovation in jeep tops. FAR better than those plastic clear freedom tops I've seen online.

I agree it needs more than what they offer. It is an absolutely cool innovation. for sure better than those clear plastic freedom tops i've seen. It DEFINITELY needs a retractable screen of some sort.

i want one. i hate sitting at a red light backing in the sun with my tops off. Almost as bad as being stuck behind a city bus on a motorcycle. lmao.

i rarely take my freedom top off and the price point is not horrible for the sunroof. i was expecting 2k up.

My pavement princess sees mud and hill climbs, a sunroof could help me make sure my jeep fits in the mall parking lot, along with my old man stock antenna.

I really like this product, probably bc im a poser. (sarcasm on the poser part)

One reason I'm hesitant to put on the sunrider - no GOOD sun filter option. That roll-up screen is not only pricey but takes up real estate - partially negating the whole point of having the panels out.
At least with the Spiderweb sunshade it was filtered sun hitting my wife (who sunburns easily these days) or my thin crop of hair on an aging scalp.

I suppose at least with this glass option, you could still use a sunshade ??

Living in Central NYS we get a real mix of weather, but I opted for the Freedom top mainly due to
winter snow and ice accumulation. Didn't take long to dislike the removable panels so I looked
at other options, including the clear see-thru single panels. Would have given more consideration
if they could be partly opened for enhanced ventilation. In the end I went with a Sunrider, and yes
after 2 yrs I've added the mesh screen (sunburn on bald head hurts). Mine is the Twill version and
after 4 yrs shows very little if any wear. In the past I've had several cars with factory sunroofs and
they all had shades that could be slid into place, my aftermarket sunroofs did not, but they did
have UV blocking coating. As a last resort I wear a baseball cap just to enjoy nature.
