Preston /Metalhead we'd say go with the Kenda Klevers. We did.

Adding a Kenda Klever RT plug here (35x10.50R17 on 2017 granite Rubicon Recon rims) on a 2024JTRX.
Also allowed us to *NOT* buy yet ANOTHER set of wheels! We are pleased with the handling, ride, noise level, we have logged no rock crawling miles on them yet...

No surprise- lots of good posts here on Mickey Thompson, BFG, others, all GREAT tire designs.

Our Perspective - possibly different (or maybe same) from/as yours: Over the many decades, we have acquired a fleet of deliberately acquired, RVs, trucks, Jeeps, tractors, trenchers, motorcycles, utility vehicles, and trailers of all sorts, (mountain property) that we stick with/don't sell frequently (the devil you know). We mechanically/electronically absolutely distrust the newer ones, and are thankful for the blessed over-20 years old vehicles retained. Especially the pre-emission diesels.

So, out of necessity, we look for balance between price and performance, leaning towards value. Value in light truck tires is harder to find these days with COVID/ post-COVID logistics/mgf disruptions/ stubborn price increases.

With decreasing hydrocarbon prices trends and the demise of OPEC, these input costs into tires prices shuld improve and prices reflect that to s degree. Also "pizza cutter" tires are gaining in popularity, and they use less tire tread material, than the currently popular in USA "fatties."

Great deals are few, good deals only occasionally these days.

Yes BFGs are well designed and manufactured top tier tires no question.

Yes MT's are proven designs with great performance, and a slightly improved price point.

However we've chosen to prioritize value, so went with the Kneda Klever RTs (mid-way between AT & MT). Of the 5 mounted (matching spare), only one needed a extra tire weights to get it into a good dynamic balance, so appears to be a fundamentally good tire.

If you have a single, or few light truck/Jeep vehicles, and it's always YOUR choice, consider the BFGs or MTs more heavily, budget allowing.

Enjoy all those CJs, YJs, TJs, JKs, JLs, and JTs! [Not a single emoji here!!! Ha! Ha!]
I like the way MT climb. At lower speeds they do not clean out well in clay material when its wet and 2 out of 4 of the lastset I bought were out of round and took significant weight to balance . The BFG's are simply the worst tires I ever owed.
I always wanted to try and set of the KCRT's .
I also dont like Falken's either ( wear out to quick) .
On a previous Jeep I had a pair of GY dura tracs great tire. Had good luck with them. All I can say is Good Luck hope its better than mine.

Love my Mickeys. Just grabbed a set of 37" boss MT last week. Had 35 baha legend exp on it before. If your sticking g with stock wheels a 35x12.5 will fit just fine also. I ran a 37 on stock wheels on my 19 JL. If your worried about poke you can always grab a set of the XR flares to ad on.
what's your opinion of the baja boss vs the legend? are your bosses mud tires or at?

didn't know if your capital MT means mickey Thompson or mud tire, haha, thanks

No prob lol. Yea they are a mud tire. The boss is a great tire from what everyone i have seen with them. We had 30k miles on our legends and they were phenomenal. They are more of a hybrid compared to a mud tire which my wife loved. They were her daily tire. I had cooper's before hand but made the switch to mickeys. I'll have to test them off road here soon but on road really quiet for a mud tire. The legends did great on and off road I just wanted something more aggressive

Another vote for the Baja Boss A/T's although to be fair I have no experience with the Kendra's to compare. Running the 255/85/17's on mine and they have tamed the buckboard shitty ride of my JTR by a bunch. I'm running them at 35 psi and between the narrow tire feel in the steering to the better road noise absorption I am really pleased with them. Only had them a short bit so will have to see about winter driving but they are already doing well in Indiana rain storms. Considering how ****** up the roads are here it's damn near off-roading through all the potholes, chewed up patched roads, and narrow ass 1 & 1/2 black top farm roads.

No experience with the Kendas. Always used Nitto or BFG, but after reading the positive reviews on the Mickey Thompsons, I took a shot with the Baha Legend MTX in 315/70/17. Only have about 1K on them, but very happy so far. Only slightly louder than the factory supplied Firestone Destination MTs they replaced and have handled great in the rain. Down here in "Jawja", they shouldn't see much snow. Another great thing is they don't seem to sling any stones in gravel.

Went from 35” Baja Boss ATs to 37” Baja Boss MTs. Both great tires. The ATs were very quiet while the MTs sing that sweet music.

I have both exact sets. I absolutely love the Mickeys and would push down my grandma to get to the last set on a shelf. I only like the Kendas, but I am an A/T tire guy all the way. Yes, narrower too. I would gladly sell the 6 Kendas I have for another set of the Mickeys. 2 have zero miles on them and I run the others during the warmer months. I have dedicated the Mickeys to the colder/winter months, but would gladly run them year round. Michigan. Speaking of “round,” I dislike an R/T tire, as these are just too slick on wet pavement. Hell, I slid around a roundabout the other day. Too much gas and they will slip on the white pavement intersection/crosswalk lines. Not a fan.
I know I’ve replied multiple times about these two tires, but I cannot recall some of the other things I shared about them. I sure as hell would not run the Kendas during our Michigan winter. Ef no! Michigan-like winter… forget about it.
I have 38K miles total on my self-ordered 2022 and had the Kendas arrive before the Jeep did in May of that year. The only reason I bought the Kendas, was because the Mickeys were on backorder and I did not want the wide(r)/smaller Falkens. Sold them with 88 miles on them. I got the Mickeys in November of that same year.
I will also add of all the 4x4s I have owned, the Mickeys on this Jeep is hands down, by far the best Michigan winter driving vehicle setup I have ever owned. Nothing but confidence and a lot of it too. The 255/85R17 Mickey Thompson Baja Boss A/T is the only tire I ever want. Really.

I just put a set of 35x12.5/17 Kenda Klever RT on my 2021, stock suspension. I've previously run 35" Kenda Klevers on a RAM 1500. These are quieter (to me) than the stock Falkens, feel better in the wet and still provide plenty of grip in mud, sand and rocks.

I definitely need to put wider fenders or find something to extend the fenders out a bit to keep spray from the tires under control. This issue is due to the wider stance of the Mojave, but the 12.5" wide tires don't help.

What wheels did you use w/your 35x12.50/17 Kenda Klever RT tires?

Running mostly out in western USA the RTs have been fine for us and dial back the "MT audio" a bit on the highway. The MTs and RTs are understandably sketchier than ATs in snow/ice country up north, and that the narrower tires would float less in any conditions. The Patagonia MTs BTW are NOT great snow/ice tires.

We just put some Kenda Klever RT 35x10.50R17's on a 2024 JTRX

We had some Cooper Discoverer MTPs 35x12.50R17 on our 2017 JKUR Recon that got REAL LOUD after lots of flat towing wear... Just replaced those w/ some MileStar Patagonia M/T 02 35x12.50R17 on the JKUR Recon - also running 33x12.50R17 M/T's on a '74 CJ-5 for several years. Quiet for a M/T tread design, so far.

It's actually a nice looking tire! How are they performance wise?

Comparing them to the ATs they are noticeably louder. There was no discernible road noise with the AT over the wind. With the MT I can hear the tires. All of my kids asked me what the noise was on their first ride after the change.

If it ever bothers me though I just stop, get out, look at the tires, and think yeah it’s totally worth it 😁

I don’t get vibration at any speed. The ride is a little rougher but I only really notice it at lower speeds. They are very smooth on the road. Corner well. Relatively light for a true to size 37.

And they are just sick. I mean look at em’

FYI --- For anyone interested in the Kenda Klever RT 35x1050R17 "pizza cutters" suitable for JT/JL 7" wide wheels, there was a recent $42 /tire price drop to $229.26 each drop shipped, pre-tax price, via Simple Tire on eBay or Walmart.com https://www.ebay.com/itm/383657290066

I went from the Patagonia MT02 35.12:50r17 (absolutely no complaints) to the falken at4 35.11.50r17. It is a really nice tire and I’m running them on the stock rims.

I have had all 3 mentioned (exact same sizes) at different times on my Gladiator and Wrangler, and can highly recommend Mickey Thompson Baja Legends. Absolute best wear life , great traction and overall ride quality.
