For the Combo that amazeballs 🤯
It is. They had a promo. Don’t know if it’s still there. It the amount I’ve invested into shafts, knuckles, ball joints, skids, etc. made it hard to consider. It felt like throwing cash and work away. People have told me to just sell my axles, and I get it, but that seems like a hassle unless it’s a pretty good return.

The only way you’re gonna know, is by experiencing it……. Just DRIVE IT!!
Your driving style and terrain will dictate breakage. Joe Schmoe could be running 40’s on stock axles and never break a thing. However…..YOU could break them everytime you go out. That’s just the way it is.

Not only that…but you could break a gazillion other things before you break an axle shaft. Like…Ujoints, hubs, driveshafts, etc.

If you’re worried….Get yourself some Chromoly axles (or upgraded axle shafts) and get yourself some upgraded U-joints. Save the stock shafts as spares. You might want to upgrade the rear driveshaft too.

You’ll know when youā€˜ll need bigger axles (Dana 60’s for example) when you start blowing thru spare shafts & ujoints on a regular basis.

Just get out there and have some fun!! Just be SMART with your driving ….you could easily get away with not breaking anything.
That’s why I’m on 44’s still. I had a shop try to sell me a pair of 60’s for a song just yesterday. He’s tried to sell them to me at least 4 times. A customer walked from a project and he got stuck with them. But I’ve got upgraded 4 upgraded axle shafts, an Adam’s driveshaft, expensive ball joints, expensive knuckles, and 5.13’s. That’s a lot of money spent to send down the road.

….Nice!! Sounds like you’re setup pretty good!!

It’s not like you can slap 60’s under there and be done with it. He’ll sell you those 60’s for cheap, ….and conveniently forget to tell you about the other stuff you’d need (and sell ya). šŸ™„ 60’s are huge…..Back in my wheeling days, 60’s were only on rock buggies & competition rigs. It amazes me that everyday consumers are driving around on 40’sā€¦ā€¦šŸ˜³ 35’s were BIG (and normal) back then.

I exactly. For one, I love my wheels. I’m staying with 5 lug. 2, 60’s are heavy and my jeep is already heavy. It goes on. 8 lug wheels are heavy. Control arm, spring and shock stuff, my drive shafts would be the wrong lengths. It’s a major deal. I just don’t feel like it right now. Maybe someday years down the road, but I’m pretty happy with what mine can do. Is it limited? Sure. But I everything is.

Limited? Only if you push it to that point……. Sometimes, you find the level you like and you don’t have to go any further than that. Besides… the harder you play, the more expensive it becomes. Not only in rig setup, but… now, you’re talking fullsize tow rig and trailer. It really is endless…..

Yep. And it’s the opposite for me. This is my tow vehicle. Going to tons and adding that weight might be a tipping point. I just like my 44’s.

It's definitely more wheeling style/ driver than anything else. We've been running 39s on stock JLUR axles for years. Trails like the rubicon, Pritchett Canyon, and John Bull. No breakage. Ball joints are shot by 28k miles but it's over 40k now without any issues.

I agree. I haven’t done John Bull, but have the other two. I finally broke a rear Oem shaft past 60k miles in sand hollow, but oh well.

Agreed. When people have tried to get me to upgrade, they always say something like you’ll get so much of the money back for your axles. Oh really?

Dude ,literally each of the M210 and M220 can be bought used for 1200-1500 bucks and they know that. They are just looking for spare parts off of you for cheap. Hang on to em for sure.
People are sneaky šŸ™„

Maybe more with rcv’s, rear chromoly shafts, and 5.13s, but not enough. And I’d rather keep them in case Wild needs to go back to mild if I get too old someday.
