I want to step up to a semi float dana 60
Reasons for this are
Gear swap to 4.88- rather just swap axle
I want to keep my factory wheels on 37" tires
In the past I have bent axles on different jeeps and had several wheel bearing issues due to larger heavier tires.

I can't seem to find get a straight answer on this one question

Does an aftermarket dana 60 semi float have larger wheel bearings then the rubicon dana 44 on a JT ?

With the semi-float axle and reusing stock brakes/backing plate, they can only go so large on the bearings. The bearings for the axle I have are set80, which is what most of the semi-float aftermarket axles use. I took a look at mine and OD is the same as stock.

Thanks. Great pics
I was hoping to avoid 8 lug to get larger wheel bearings but that may not be possible

I was under the impression that the ultimate Dana 60 semi float used dual row tapered wheel bearings … but you’re right, details are scarce on the semi float.

I too am leaning rear Dana 60 semi float as I have a diesel and tow.

I’d love to go full float, but the cost and weight are BIG cons, however 1 ton brakes and locking hubs/full float hubs would be great.

Is this a Dana semi float or another aftermarket … like I said below, I thought the Dana used dual row tapered bearings …
