My 2025 JTM is still pretty new to me (~1500 miles), but I knew immediately I was going to want 35s. I don’t have any plans to lift at this point. Outside of driving around the woods of our property, I’m not wheeling this thing.
We have a couple miles of gravel to get to our property, and the stock Wildpeaks were doing a good job of throwing that gravel at my Jeep
I wanted to get a mild poke on the rims w some 0-offset Turbomacs (and I’ve always wanted to try bronze), but I was worried about throwing even more gravel!
My theory behind picking the Mickey Thompson EXPs was that I’d retain enough AT properties to survive wet/winter conditions, but that the wider shoulder blocks would not partake in the stone throwing.
After installing & doing a few test drives, this appears to be playing out! The inner AT pattern still picks & throws gravel, but the shoulder blocks do not. And, even with the 0-offset 8.5” Turbomacs adding a couple of inches of poke , the inner tread block still sits shy of the fender edge, so the fender is catching nearly all of the stones. I’m very happy w this!
Aside from doing a better job protecting my paint, the tires appear to be close to “true” 35s in size; I picked up about 1.8” of height over the stock Falkens (which measure short of 33”). They are slightly louder than the Wildpeaks, but the JT isn’t my daily drive so, who cares! She rides naked whenever possible anyways.
Ride is fantastic, still retains the awesome Mojave handling and I haven’t noticed any difference in acceleration. The total weight is ~94lbs per wheel, so I’ve only added about 4ish lbs of unsprung weight.
I’ve never done white letters out, but I was inspired by the Honcho concept which I may try to emulate over time.
