"We recently detected unauthorized access to a third-party service provider’s platform that supports our North American customer service operations"

So, this time around the effect is most likely just more spam, and phishing, and sprearphishing.

For those that think people that do not use the app, and do our best to disconnect from cellular, are being silly, 2 1/2 years ago, https://www.pcmag.com/news/hacker-exploits-sirius-xm-flaw-to-remotely-unlock-honk-horn-on-cars. I see unlocking just as a proof of concept.

CAN Bus, once on the trusted side, past the SGW, everything is trusted. Just imagine the cost of ransomewaring every head unit.

Some things simply should not have internet access of any type. We will never know what SalesForce data was copied or destroyed.

Interesting. I scheduled my first service about a month and a half ago and it is non-stop spam since. I thought the dealer sold my info. Maybe it's this.

We use a monitoring service. "Breaches" are far far more common than you think. We get alerts pretty regularly.
Chrysler Capital is the financial arm, not part of this hack

Yes, the hackers are everywhere these days from stealing contact info for marketing/sales, to shutting down whole factories, utility companies etc. As far as Stellantis/Chrysler properly separating the sites, ya never know...until you know. ;)

The word "properly" is key. When I worked IT security for govt, the rules for SSA info access were brutal.

Allegedly.....LOL

What company or government entity ever admitted to getting the financial details hacked???
Only when they are legally required to disclose the breach. And the release will likely be only to the people whose data was compromised. But hey, you might get two years of "free" identity theft coverage. I use "free" since you have to share with the monitoring company the data to be monitored, like provide them with your SSN so they can check for your SSN on the various brokerage sites.

My cell phone carrier was hacked and my data was stolen (T-Mobile). My bank was hacked and data stolen. My DMV was hacked and my data stolen. Every big corporation I have done business with seems to have already been hacked and "offered free credit monitoring." This whole system is a scam.

We only heard about Wynn Resorts in 2023 because Wynn refused to pay the ransom, and went back a generation in technology while their infrastructure was rebuilt.

I fix it for you, "...when they are caught pants down."

Oh yes the free garbage protection monitoring bs...hmmm weren't they already supposed to be doing that? LOL
