From an article I had read they let go any non union/salaried workers. Mentioned that the plans were to move those jobs to Mexico or other locations outside the US

The bean counters just report the results.Oh goody, get rid of the engineers promote the bean counters...
Oh, I'm definitely hybrid over EV, no doubt. I like the idea of the 4xe, I had a loaner during my HPFP recall. It didn't work for me, my commute to work is 25 miles door to door. Now on the other hand it would work for my wife, if she wanted to replace her GCL with GCL 4xe. Her commute is 1.5 miles, her 21 GCL only has 13k on it.For me 28 works fine. That's just about what I do in a day AND, drum roll please, I can charge at home and not deal with the rest. So, I'll go hybrid, but NOT EV and have a gas engine for the rest... And apparently a large percentage of everyone else feels the same.
This popped up first on a quick key word search... https://www.repairerdrivennews.com/2024/01/03/edmunds-hybrid-vehicles-are-outpacing-ev-demand/I'd like to see your sources for that last statement. Most everybody I know is skeptical, at best.
They plan on a 4XE for the Gladiator that essentially comes from the Wrangler, so they don't need much new engineering. Maybe that's what they're "thinking".Oh goodie - the EV product offensive. That's super helpful for those of us that offroad and camp offgrid. Perfect. Oh well, they still can't seem to upgrade the engine in the JT, so maybe they don't need mechanical engineers.
The 4XE would come under the new EPA rules for the 2030s, something like 84% EVS but included hybrids, I think because they know there won't, maybe ever, be enough charging stations in rural areas like here in New Mexico. At the rate Stellan

Supposedly, battery improvements are coming to the 4Xe before they stuff it in the Gladiator. If they increase the distance per full charge and it had better towing capacity than the JTRD, then I may consider a trade.
That sounds right. Meanwhile, all we really want is a real, gas engine. Once upon a time, manufacturers listened to the market and built products they wanted. Miss those days. They plan on a 4XE for the Gladiator that essentially comes from the Wrangler, so they don't need much new engineering. Maybe that's what they're "thinking".
Okay, well yeah, I guess that would be like asking people if they would rather die from cancer or a stroke."Redfour5 said:

This happened to my niece. She was in a department with four people, one in a South American office. They have been working from home since COVID. They let the three US employees go and moved the department to the South American office. From an article I had read they let go any non union/salaried workers. I'm 74. In 1968 had a M38-A1 I got surplus and put a Buick V-6 in it. In 1973 after the Marines, I bought a new CJ-5 (for $3400!) and had it for 15 years. Got me through grad school. Nary a problem. Those days are long gone as you say. That sounds right. Meanwhile, all we really want is a real, gas engine. Once upon a time, manufacturers listened to the market and built products they wanted. Yep that sound similar. It mentioned that they were told not to come to the office and work from home where a video call was set up and each of them were released via video call. Said they would be given nice separation packages and all positions would be transferred and handled out of overseas locations. Guess they couldn't let the Unionized personnel go.This happened to my niece. She was in a department with four people, one in a South American office. They have been working from home since COVID. There's a lot more, that was just the first one that popped. Not doing a research paper on it.Okay, well yeah, I guess that would be like asking people if they would rather die from cancer or a stroke.
