Alright, just got my Gladiator and about to start buying parts soon. First time buying a bumper, and have never actually purchased a winch before. Yes, I have used a winch, but limited experience. If you suggest a certain bumper, please also include anything to consider about winches with that bumper, such as if there are any limitations or things you wish you'd known before you bought yours.
I haven't really narrowed it down yet. Been looking at 100 pictures of bumpers. I know I'll need a stubby bumper to clear the tires I'll be running, and I like some of what Motobilt has on their site. Kind of torn about whether or not to run a bull bar. I don't want to render the front camera completely useless. I also like the frame chop style stubby bumpers, just not sure I want to commit to it. It's 50/50. I should probably also consider keeping it "light" since I have the diesel engine.
Just for starters, here's a link to what Motobilt offers for JT front bumpers. If you have one of them, I'd like to hear about it. Thanks.

Y’all definitely had the best price. Thanks.
That will give you some crazy approach angles.
Thank you sir. I might have also bought a winch this morning.Congrats dude
Too late! Already bought something, but I did see this one and I liked it. Decided to go with the frame chop style after all.Not sure if LOD Offroad was mentioned but they have my vote. I was able to move this bumper from my JKU to my Gladiator with new hardware. Their customer service was super responsive and after at least 5 yrs of use, powder coating still looks great!

For the price and its good reputation I couldn’t pass up the sale on this one. Got the last one in the store today.Which winch did you go with?
I had this bumper on my Sport, and I plan on mounting the same on my new Rubi.LoD bumpers. One of the few that are tow rated. I like the Signature Shorty with the Stringer. You can use the oem fog lights with it or aftermarket. Plus it mounts the winch low, out of the air flow for the cooling stack.

No such thing exists yet. 🫣Where’s the install pics @Trail_Limo_Tim![]()
Willing to bet the answer to those is “no” but you’d have to ask whoever builds the specific bumper(s) you’re curious about.Does anyone have any idea if there are crash tests done or are they up to DOT specs? I'm sure they are way stronger than a factory plastic or even a steel one.
Seriously thinking of building my own.
ThisI'm pretty sure a steel bumper like these would not pass safety tests. They're terribly unsafe for other people if they crash into you. lol![]()
