No, I left those off. More so the entire piece is not simple/quick to remove info want a full open top up front.

Admittedly this is the first product of this type that I’ve purchased and they are all probably the same so it’s no criticism of the design.

Would be super super cool if you could design one with a quick release feature, semi-permanent brackets install to the top of the windshield and the roll cage, and the main molle panel could be easily removed and placed back with thumb screws or something similar.

If you do it, I would love to beta test them for you :)
This isn't difficult. We initially considered making two small revolving doors and wing screws, but that would have two drawbacks:

1. Wing screws don't look as clean as Allen screws.

2. Powder at the hinge area is easily worn away.

I've noted your requirements. We'll contact you if we make a beta version later!

Got mine yesterday. Anxious to get it mounted. I don't plan on removing the tops so I will likely mount the two smaller panels. How much trouble was it to pry back the windshield trim, or whatever the instructions called it? The word "pry" elicits thoughts of stretch or tear.
These plastic trim panels are secured with some clips, making installation easy and unlikely to cause any permanent damage to your vehicle.

I have been thinking about this the past couple weeks.

My thoughts are the main molle panel could sit above/on top of the two brackets that attach to the roll bar/windshield. That way you can strengthen the brackets to support the weight of the panel.

PEM studs pressed into the brackets, studs facing up, and then low-profile thumb/wing nuts to secure the main molle panel against the the brackets.

To me, it would be acceptable to have to remove the freedom panels in order to remove the main molle panel.

The trim panels here don't seem to be aligned. Was that how they were supposed to be, or did you leave it like that to accommodate the Molle installation?

Just being lazy. Left the sunrider on through 14 inches of snow. Installed molle and then pin panels back on.

I see... so these panels can actually be restored, right?

Yes, the panels are back on.

So just to clarify what I did, I left the trim loose to allow the panels to be adjusted after I ensured the sunrider bracket worked with the molle. In view of the earlier comments, I left the locking tabs loose until the panels we set and then tightened them. However, they were not set and I have a noisy gap, and now need to go in and readjust the panel locking tabs over the rear view mirror. I would suggest pushing down on panels from above to make sure they are set before tightening.

I've also thought of a solution. The current structure doesn't need any changes. We can provide some extra wing screws, matching the existing Allen screw specifications, without significantly increasing the cost.

If you want quick assembly and disassembly, use wing screws; if you want the cleanest finish, use Allen screws.

I have mine installed and am now discovering the size of the holes in the molle panel are not compatible with tool mounts from DV8 or Bulletpoint. The DV8 mounts are quick release and requires 1" x 1.5" holes, the Exceedfab product is 1" x 1-3/8". The Bulletpoint would work but they sandwich the panel between mounts and would require I remove the panel for installation. Now I'm stuck using less secure straps for retention.

I feel your pain. I am looking at using Builtright mounts on my Barnes bed molle, and they likely won't fit either. I wish the molle openings were more standard across the companies.

Are you talking about these types of tool holders? Can't you just pick up bolts and nuts as needed for the smaller round holes? I am wondering if the Putco mount plates would work, but they are not cheap.

Those are exactly what I bought, 2 pair. But I have figured out that by removing the small molle panel end panels for quick access to the freedom top latches, I can then have access overhead to attach the phillips screws into the tool mount and be good. I will post images.
