The only downside on that, IMHO, is that when you forget to unplug (I know I have a few times) it might not pull out as easy as the Pollok Lighter Adapter does.
Thanks for the insight. What would cause that to happen?

For me I just forget to unplug it when I leave, then I hear the ruckus then the Battery tended fell off, now its secured and mounted so when I did last time I just found Pollak adapter in the plug.

I joined the forum just to respond to this one...

For 27 years in a previous career I ran a public golf course. I still have nightmares about ruining battery chargers by driving off with them plugged in or wrapped around something on the vehicle (golf carts).

So on my JT, I have a big sign that says "UNPLUG ME" in king-size red sharpie. It goes on the ol' windshield wiper every time I plug my tender in.

Haven't driven off with it plugged in... yet. :D

@BadHammers I've only done it twice, but your method is more foolproof. One thing I really like is the ability for the wiring to pull right out of the 7-Pin socket, but best to remember to unplug!

I have done it once. I intentionally back into my driveway and have it plugged in so I remember to unplug it. I was working on it and finished working on it and wanted to verify everything was working and completely forgot that is was plugged in until I came back and found the extension cord in the middle of the driveway. It had been ripped out of the wall and the bumper. Luckily nothing had been damaged.

Been there ...
I back into the garage. Easier to drive out and up and into the road and a must in winter. I charge through the trailer connector and the outlet is in the garage addition. I went with the 12v adapter as that method allowed fast disconnect as the 12v plug on the charger will pull right out. And by my forgetfulness I tested that theory. It also means it may lose connection if I walk by and brush against it but the red LED on the plug indicates connection to the truck so it's fine.

Yeah, I saw the post about using the trailer connector with the centek. I think I am going to switch to that. I am currently using the NOCO 2amp under the hood. According to the NOCO it says the battery is bad but it has kept the battery maintained for the last 8 months but I think that is because it is too small for the battery. When I first installed it, it took I think 4-5 days before the light turned green and then turned to a blinking red light after that.

Put the outlet for the extension cord on the bumper and it's 3x for me so far.

I'm doing the same, I use it on my new Gladiator and my wife's Wrangler. Makes it easy to keep them both in good condition as our communes are both under 2 miles to work.
Battery Tender Jeep Charge Setup.webp

Great, of course I attached the negative clamp of my trickle charger to the post where @ShadowsPapa said not to before I left home for the month. Hopefully, no damage when I get back home.

I have the same BatteryTender pictured above. Are the below 2 the correct parts for the rest of the trailer port charging setup?

Looks like the same setup I have except I have the 4 amp tender and I don't have to worry about driving off with it hooked up because the cord is across my path to the driver's door.
