Yeah you guys that dont see much snow on the southern coast have that luxury.
I am sitting here and it's been snowing all day 😂 They just go plumber stupid with liquid salt and Cinders and salt. It's ridiculous. I got busy and did the whole thing this past summer . It was a beast of a job .
They finally started putting a slurry down, but we get snow infrequently enough that I just take it to a car wash with an undercarriage spray because the snow is always off the roads in a day or two.

Are you mid way or more toward ashville? I had a dear church friend who was like my Dad who lived in Statesville who passed away a few years ago. I haven’t been back to NC ever since.

I’m actually in the Atlanta area now, but I was in Raleigh/Durham and it was like that there and now it’s finally like that in the Atlanta area.

Sorry you lost your friend.

It’s widely known that the GMT-800s are extremely long lasting trucks. Reliable and cheap to maintain too. The GMT-900s are too if you remove the cylinder deactivation.

I see them all the time with 300k+ miles on them and still making it to the work site every day.
But how many engines and 4L60 transmissions did it take to get there?

Whenever I see those GMC commercials that use the motto "We are professional grade" the first thought that comes to my mind is "I'd hate to see what they consider contractor grade!"

Original drivetrain. All you have to do to make a 4L60 last is don’t be an idiot. Don’t tow in overdrive and change the fluid every 100k and if you get a leak, fix it or don’t let it get too low. Same as basically any other transmission.

Out in the gas patch you don't see Chevys. Most are F250s and Ram 2500s.

Yeah, and from my perspective, it's a rather plain jane, unattractive truck........ but that's my perspective.
I completely agree one of GM's weakest body styles GM took all the good lines of the GMT400 and said how can we make this look softer...

That’s because of SFA and the rough conditions. IFS on the HD chevys don’t hold up as well. Nothing to do with anything else.
Chevys are rust buckets here.
