New hoods showing up on Rubicons

I have a Sport with a Sport hood. Even if I had a Rubi

I'd take a Sport hood over this "power dome". I stopped by the dealer to see the new hood in person. It looks better in photos. Not a fan after seeing it close up.

Put a Rubicon hood on a damned Rubicon and a Mojave/392 hood on a Mojave and quit jacking around with us.
It's not a premium hood, it's not worth more or better than a Rubicon hood - put on the hood that belongs on it!!
It's really quite simple - quit tossing extras out on stuff and calling it an upgrade.
If I wanted some fancy hood that's supposed to be premium and a "performance hood", I'd order one - but not that one.
How does that hood add performance? A fart can does as much for performance, and steel just adds weight and slows it down, so honestly, it's an anti-performance hood.
Geesh, Jeep screws things up, swapping parts around without notice, plumbers have their heads up their asses and swap parts claiming "but this one cost us more" when I found they SAVED 500 bucks by swapping, door opener people take your money in November, the stuff comes in the first of December and you have to hound them - hey, when are you installing these we paid for 2 months ago", no one gives a rip or has any pride in their work, it's all bait and switch and lies.

Frankly, I wonder if we can keep the hood on our current JLU and move it to the new one?

I feel attacked lol I like my hood... Bought it 2 years ago for my sport to standout from the rest. I've gotten nothing but compliments about it... But now that everyone is getting it... sheesh

For ordering a JL/JT the dealer needs a wheel to spin indicating which hood is installed.

JL Rubicon: aluminum Rubicon or steel Mojave/392 performance hood.
JT Rubicon: aluminum Rubicon or steel Euro vented premium hood.

Don't worry, whatever hood it comes with - maybe the paint will bubble up on it in three year like mine is doing.

Though I'm not sure if yall gonna keep one that long

A dealer near me has two '26 Sport S's on the lot that are identical in every way except color. They even have sequential VIN's. They both have the basic Sport hood as is on my '20.

One's window sticker has this:

All this talk about hoods and what truck is getting what and how many times it's changed and here I am looking at all of it going:

"Well as long as the truck has something covering the engine - sounds good"

So, just ordered a JLU Sport S for the wife, and mentioned the hood thing. She shrugged, and said almost the same thing. So we'll see what I get in a few months.

Hey don't get me wrong. It's a big deal to some folks. I like some of the hoods more than others, but I'm not about to lose any sleep over it if I was ordering or buying one.

As I joked earlier - I'd be more worried about the paint staying on it, in general

It would at least have vacuum controlled ram air, but would be too long and narrow. Maybe a 71+ cowl induction hood..

Looks like they are charging $695 for the steel hood now. This leads me to believe the aluminum hoods will start returning. A few Rubi Wranglers just produced have the aluminum hoods.

I think it's just a sign of the current economy mixed with modern Just In Time inventory/manufacturing processes.

I noticed when ordering my wife's new Wrangler last month, that LED headlights were a $0 upgrade on the Sport S, much like we saw with the hoods here. I'm guessing there was a supply issue related to something in the halogen setup, so rather than delay orders, they offered the more expensive option. No cost to the consumer, and probably little additional cost to Jeep.

If they are calling it a "performance hood" shouldn't something performance oriented be under it ?????
