Morning all. I already have a Rough Country Hard Low-Profile Tri-Fold Tonneau cover and so far it’s performed wonderfully and I love it.

I would like to get a bed rack next, but kind of want to keep the tonneau cover and be able to use both at the same time.

So I was wondering if anybody had any suggestions or experience with a bed rack that allows the use of a tri-fold tonneau cover underneath it?

(I also have the factory Trail Rail system if that’s an important detail too.)

Thanks in advance!

Thank you, I’ll go check them out.

I did see one by Lost Canyon this afternoon. The JT Base Camp Bed Rack. Not sure if anybody has any experience with them at all.

Make your own using T slot material from places like TNUTZ. All custom, much stronger you could imagine and a whole heck of a lot cheaper. Picture shows an 18 inch riser allowing for an MX4 from Realtruck. The center support isn't necessary but does hold the DYI molle rack from a bbq grill. That's a Thule carrier on top, but you could easily put an RTT up there as well.

Interesting. How is that mounted to the actual bed? Did you drill through the top of the bed sides? Thanks.

Theres 4 -5/16" SS carriage bolts 3" long the hold each side down. The head fits nicely in the tslot. Underneath its centered on the space with a lock nut and washer like it was designed that way. Each rail is 52" but could be a bit longer in the back. I wanted to leave the bed rail open for something else. I just discovered I need to slide the vertical supports forward about 2 " which is easy to do. The grille fit right in the tslot channel wo modification. Considered using a case iron grate but I like the SS contrast with the bolts. Im mounting 2 awnings to the top as well

Heres a list about 95% complete. Things I learned........... Use the aluminum tnut w/ball spring in 5/16".......The economy steel ones are cheaper but harder to setup on a vertical, unless using a magnet to align it with the bolt. Either way, use anti-seize on the bolt!.... Build it first out of 2x3 wood to get the lengths how you want it, then order it precut..... I used the 1515 and 1530 extrusion which is the heavier of the two. The lighter version would work to save weight and cost..... Shipping weight was ~85 lbs. cost ~$800 with the added support and upgraded extrusions......I overdid the gussets as well. They make a hidden one but wouldnt be as strong...............Best part, its easy to added stuff later like awnings, storage, molles, tools etc without drilling.......and the grilles? two for $34! Cant beat that anywhere

Check out TRUKD Bed Racks, especially if you want to be able to fully open your current tri-fold cover! Our 24.5" rack will work great with your setup and allow full opening of your bed cover.

That’s a lovely bed rack and looks like it would work wonderfully well indeed. Love how you can adjust the height and add accessories too. Impressive payload too. But sadly it’s way beyond my price point at the moment. Thank you for the suggestion though.
