Sounds like we're just going to have to either buy the diesel or supercharge our 3.6 motors for a few years anyway. I'm OK with it, just get them on the lots!
My thoughts exactly. I'll get one now, if Hercules appears in 2 years and it's awesome and I can't stand not to have one, I'll trade up. I want my butt in a seat as soon as I can possibly place it on it's Dark Saddle leather.

what would vented fenders be fore? Really hot brakes?
vents on the top of fenders are to get rid of the high pressure on the top of the tire caused by it rotating. this can actually lift the car at high speeds by pushing up on the fender. Below is a picture of the porsche 919 LMP1 car, you can see the air flow exiting over the front fender compared to the rain mist exiting between the gap from the wheel arch.

Great response and image confirmation. It immediately makes me think... can a Jeep actually go fast enough for that to matter? =oP

That's what I was wondering. Any other benefits for under 160mph travel? Other than looking BA

I agree. Does anyone know where to get just the vents? I am going to order the new Rugged Ridge highlife fenders and thought of nothing else I could modify them with the vents.

HA!
"Hercules? Wow. That's getting a lot of traction today," he said. "I think the pictures are cool—I don't know who made them—but they look interesting."

That's awesome news! That means they read THIS forum and will do whatever we tell them to, Start the sport at $30,000.........maybe not, but they read THIS forum!
My company is nowhere near as big as FCA and we have a team of people who read everything written about us on the Internet., either by the press or in social media. I actually get an abstract in my email of the press articles every week.

Someone over there reads the forum I'm sure.

I still think the Hercules is happening. Just not sure what motor is going in it. I doubt it will be a V8 though. There has just been too much talk about "high speed" stuff including some of the items the Gladiator has over the Wrangler, and the concept shown at Easter Jeep Safari. Also, I think FCA will want a Raptor Ranger and ZR2 Fighter for the faster speed stuff, and while the current Rubicon can out do both on the rocks it wouldn't do a well in the desert.

I'm thinking the inline turbo 6 3.0 they're developing.
