Ok so the weekend came and went. I finally got a chance to snap some pics of the linkage that was disconnected.

I'm now up to about 300 miles now about 90 was from the ride home from the dealer. I'm happy to report no other issue and the linkage is still secured and operating without fault.

Had a great weekend for cruising we had the freedom tops off. I think the truck is fantastic and the ride is great. Was honestly nervous about the ride quality with multiple review's and post with grumbling on how it handled. I'm coming from a 2014 Silverado which is a well mannered truck on road and I've had a couple CJs in the past also drove a friend's JKU Rubi and the Gladiator handle's nothing like Jeeps past. Maybe I'm just lucky but my truck seemed to handle and track very nice even with the tire pressure running at 43 psi. I am not getting any wandering or shiny or shakes just smooth fun driving. Even over gravel or washboard roads and rail crossings it was fantastic and in my opinion better than my Silverado. I don't plan on doing high speed cornering so I think it's great.

Also happy to announce my first mod and I trimmed up the ugly Euro fender bits

What the break in procedure for a new manual gladiator?

Haven't dug into it at all. I've just been driving it normally without hammering on it. I don't plan on working it to hard for a few hundred miles.

500 miles per the User Guide ... I forget the speed listed, but I avoided interstate those first 500 miles. Unfortunately a nasty hail storm was coming in as I was rushing out of the dealership, so my first 25 miles or so where about 65mph on backroads.

Every where I look on here there is nothing but horror stories on delays and whatnot. It can’t all be bad, is the majority of people’s experiences bad or good? Reading in the forum you’d swear everyone’s orders are a disaster, but I see trucks at every dealer around here and a few driving around. There has to be some smooth builds.

Disaster for me...ordered 4/22, it went into system as an auto and I tracked that for a month before we realized it was an auto and it was reordered 5/20 and I was given a 2nd VIN. Went D1 on the 7/17 I think and no change. ETA ship date is 7/31 and my dealer GM thinks we're on track to meet that! I roll on the floor when he tells me that.

Quick question everyone. With there being so much play in the steering wheel is it more hands on and tricky when shifting? Also I've been looking up small campers around 3k pounds (need to look up boats). After doing research just a camper over 5k pounds is huge and I can never see myself towing that much. So 4500 for the Rubicon mt with a small 3000 pd camper would work out great. I don't ever plan on giving this truck up and I eventually want to get a small camper a small pontoon boat and a small trailer to pull ATVs and such so everything has to work out. I've drove several Mt vehicles cars and trucks but I've never towed. I've also never drove a Jeep... My second question is how hard is it towing in a Mt? Will it come second nature to me to learn all the cues and everything needed to keep her on the road or backing up a boat at a boat launch or am I biting off more than I can chew?

Everyone realizes this. Peoples complaint is being fed bullshit and not being told that manuals were technically late availability. They knew that shit when they went on sale put a disclaimer on it like they did with the color choices. I've read multiple people say I don't mind waiting as long as I had some kind of realistic idea instead of BS.

My sentiments exactly, I am just tired of the run around.

Great report. I'm in a Silverado right now too. Glad to hear the washboard/rail crossing thing.

Not sure how it will translate, but the notion this suspension is modeled off the Ram 1500, I just had a Ram as a rental and the ride and handling, for my tastes, was WAY better than the Silverado. The Silverado is too float-y, go over a rail crossing and it's bouncing. The Ram was a quick thump and done, no bounce.

It's supposed to be a truck, not a Cadillac.

Hopefully that's more or less what you're saying.

Good News everyone. Got an email with my windows sticker last night, this morning the dealership called and I will be picking my baby up tomorrow at 11am. Unfortunately I am on vacation 3 hours away so the first 180 miles on the truck will be highway

Also, I like 2 hours away for the plant which is why it sipped so fast

Great report. I'm in a Silverado right now too. Glad to hear the washboard/rail crossing thing.

Not sure how it will translate, but the notion this suspension is modeled off the Ram 1500, I just had a Ram as a rental and the ride and handling, for my tastes, was WAY better than the Silverado. Exactly this is a truck so you will feel body roll in corners but the suspension is soft and forgiving. Even with the tires running at the 43 psi from the factory it seems just fine. My old CJs yeai know it's a totally different animal I could roll over a dime and tell if it was heads or tails. You really can't compare it to a Wrangler/CJ. I just assumed it would have a some wander or some bouncing over hard bumps but I think it's pretty smooth. Don't get me wrong you still know you're driving over a rough road but 8 do feel like I'm getting beat up.
