No clear plastic on mine, but I have the black plastic fenders. I think it read somewhere else they put the protective film on painted fenders to help protect the painted finish.

Yeah, it's just on the forward facing part of the fender. It's hard to see unless you're looking for it.

Congrats! I got an estimated delivery date on mine today too! August 7th, with a plan to pick it up on the 10th. Now I really have to find a buyer for my JK...
