Well I'm joining the wait club today. Just put in my order for a 6 speed Firecracker Red Rubicon with matching top and fenders. Closing on a house in about a month but given what I see here, I have no concern the truck will be done before I finalize my mortgage.

I just looked at yours. If you click on your name in the tracker, it will be bring up the build sheet. About a third of the way down on the right it says 6-speed manual transmission. Most of the build sheets with autos will have them listed towards the top, which allows me to sift through them fairly quickly.

KDR83, welcome to the club. I like your reverse psychology with FCA on getting your M/T Rubi faster than everyone else has!

Get your build specs and dates into your signature :)

Alkali's 1 week review:

So I have had my MT Sport S for about a week now and put 700 miles on it. The clutch is very soft on it however I got used to it very quickly. I hopped back in my wife's JKU after and that clutch felt so stiff it was insane. I also have a 1991 Miata and the clutch on that is somewhere between the JT and the JKU. When I first sat in it and felt the clutch it felt like there was this weird second engagement point near the floor but I think that might have just been since it was new because I no longer feel it.

I was on the fence about ESS but I honestly really enjoy it and hope it will save me gas. It is easy enough to bypass if you know you will be at a quick stoplight or something since you can just keep the clutch in and it will not engage. If I know it is a longer light I will put it in Neutral and pop the clutch out and it will turn off. I have noticed however it will turn itself back on to keep the A/C cool on those hot days so the ESS is less useful then. The second you touch the clutch to put put it in first the engine starts up quickly by the time you have finished putting it in gear and are ready to go.

MPG-wise, most of the driving I did has been highway to and from vacation. I was able to get 25MPG average (according to the dash) on the return trip which was mostly flat or gentle hills of Ohio (Dayton to Akron). I kept it around 70-75mph and generally just followed another car or truck. I am at about 23 now with city driving mixed in there but I am a pretty slow driver in general so I don't really floor it often or speed a whole lot. 6th gear is actually useful in this truck on the highway to get around someone or go up a hill unlike in the JKU in which 6th is useless for anything but downhill with wind at your back :)

Let me know if you have any questions!

chrcal14, please let us know how quickly they respond and what the response is. You have one (1) of the most optioned out M/T Rubi's I've seen on here, so i am guessing that has something to do with it. Unfortunately my build isn't that far off in those terms, so I hope I don't end up in the same boat.

Yea- I would be interested to. Despite my abbreviated signature I have a fully loaded MT with steel bumper, matching flares, dual top etc....I just got spicy with Jeep Chat because 22 days in JB....she said everything is on schedule and it can take 30 days to install additional equipment. I also can't escalate anything because I did that back in D.....I apologized by the end of the convo with Crystal, hahaha.

Coming from a JKUR 6-speed with 35's, any larger tire would need regearing to utilize 6th gear on anything other than a downhill run.
Yeah, had 35’s on my JK 6 spd. No issues with the 35’s even towing but seeing a bunch of people throwing 37’s on autos and can’t help think they’re going to regret it.

Got mine yesterday! 12 weeks and 1 day from order. The waiting pain melted away immediately. It is amazing! Very little seat time so far but I’m pleased. Transmission is incredibly smooth and engine is very quiet. Much different than my previous ‘97 TJ Sport. It will take a little time to get the right feel for it. 1st and 2nd gear are quite lower than what I was used to and I will need to work on mastering a smooth shift from 1st to 2nd but the rest of the gears almost seem to shift themselves. Sorry for the poor quality carport pic but I wanted to show a little proof that it is really mine!

Response was fast, courteous, and professional. The offered help was a note on my case to contact me when an update is available.

I'm not sure that's going to help, but I'm trying to be nice and trying to be respectful of their system. My fear is that means I'll get an email if/when my status changes. What if that's 3 months from now, or never?

It's astonishing that no one can take action to acquire additional information. They have reasons I'm sure, I'd guess mostly financial, that they don't want to incur the expense that a more enabled support system would cost. I get it, it's not a hobby, they do this to make profit.

We're definitely not valued customers though. We're probability of purchase statistics, and the survey says we'll eat this and smile, and still buy a Jeep. Damnable thing is they might be right. I'm trying to screw up the gumption to walk away from this, but I want one pretty bad!
