I’ve got my Gator on order with Travis. When it comes in, I’ll be making the long drive from Boston to NC to make the short first drive back home in my new Gladiator.

Im trying to decide what accessories I should plan to take with me to use on that first road trip.

My first thoughts were a bug deflector and a dash cam. Not sure which if either to get, but I’m looking for advice on those and any other recommendations for that first trip home. Console caddy? Phone mount?

I’m just realizing I’ll have my five OE tires along with my soft top to haul home.

I think I would probably need some ratchet/cam buckle straps at minimum to secure the load. Maybe end up folding down the back seats if I need to put a tire back there?

Not sure what top you ordered, but if you got the dual top option the soft top will be in a crate that fills up the bed. Your luggage and anything else you bring will have to be in the cab.

I got the dual top. Is it safe to assume I could still strap down the 5 OE tires on top of the box in the bed (not sure the dimensions of the box)?

Do you have the aeroskin? I have been thinking about it but I am very hesitant against the 3m tape. I decided to allow the tape for my sill guards (rugged ridge) but that is an area where I don't think it would be as potentially damaging as the hood if I remove in the future (or when the tape starts to fail).

I saw the Mopar one uses screws or bolts. Do you know if those thread into existing holes or are they pressure fit?

From what I understand they use existing holes but not much info I have seen yet. I generally don't like deflectors but I am so sick of dealing with bugs and such trying to clean the front and the window on my wranglers and there are days I think the gladiator may be worse. But all in all the aeroskin has a nice look. Part of the fun of there being so few gladiators out there we don't get to see the options in the real world for a while (in four months I have seen 4 gladiators out in the wild)

Same here. The first time I saw one anywhere was Mid-August. At that time, I didn’t even know the vehicle existed—I assumed it was a custom job and went straight home to look it up online.

Six-weeks later, my first Jeep (and first brand new vehicle, ever) is on order. Still, I’ve only ever seen three on the road.

Get a buyer in NC for the tires lined up on CL or FB and dump em before heading home

I have the Mopar one on my JL, and it uses existing holes under the hood lip. It helps with bugs, but not totally. So far no rock cracked windshield, but can't honestly say it is due to the bug shield or not.

Bring a tarp if you expect to have tires in the back seat. They are awful on upholstery and carpet.

I fully agree with the Aeroskin II.
For the CAM though, I'll concede the Blackvue's are the favorite but pretty expensive.
I'll add a MUCH more inexpensive option for the Cam.
I'm VERY happy with this one:

I get it, but if you clean the hood well when installing, there should be no problems with it.
I really like the matte texture finish and the way it fits tight on the hood.

Dimensions of the box fill the entire bed...you may want to think about tires below the box so you dont crush the frame and such...then again I am paranoid
