Brother. Glad everyone is OK. Not as bad but I Messed up my tailgate last night backing out of my neighbors driveway and hit the mailbox across the street. Since the tailgate is aluminum it can’t be PDR’d very well and it’s friggin expensive (I ordered a new gate) and also not available immediately! So pissed at myself.

Oh man I feel you on that. Hopefully you won't have to wait too long on the tailgate!!

Got the quote on Friday, $6k to fix initially. I'm sure it will be more once it's done. My main issue for the repair is the frame has to be moved back into place where the bumper attaches and the hood panel gaps are all off. I'm sure they will do a good job, but you never know what could come up later.

As mentioned above, don't settle with their insurance without a diminished value number that you're happy with. It is a standard ask in a settlement but they won't offer it up if you don't ask for it.
I plan on it actually. Got to get some documentation on how much the value could be. I hopeing for a few grand anyway. Thanks!

WTH? Were your rear lights not bright enough to illuminate the area for your rear camera to see?

Awesome! I didn't really think about this. I'm about to post an update, but I just bought a dash cam today and possibly went overboard....

So here is an update to the accident. From what my insurance is saying the police report says the accident occurred because the other party ran the red light. So that is some good news, now I hope her insurance actually pays and I can get some reimbursement on my deductible and possible loss of value.

Friday I went to the body shop to go over repairs and estimated time to repair. The total was around $6000 minus my deductible of $500. I have attached what is initially going to be replaced and how much everything is. Hopefully this will help anyone in the future if this happens to them. I should have the truck back by the end of October which is pretty quick turn around.

The body shop guy that walked me through the estimate, told me that normally they would have cut the part of the frame where the bumper attaches to the weld where it's welded to the main frame, but that part was "unobtainable" and Mopar says it has no plans to release the date when they will have it ready to purchase. So they are going to bent that part back, which I was told wouldn't be very difficult. The only other issue I saw was that the whole hood was basically out of alignment, so all the front panel gaps were way off. I just hope that there aren't any issues with it once they go try and fix those gaps.

My insurer is with USAA and so far they have been great to work with. I took it to a Jeep dealer body shop which is a preferred body shop by USAA. So I will have a lifetime warranty on any issues that might creep up in the future.

I went a bit over board today and bought my dash cam. I have no idea how I will mount it yet, but I went ahead and dropped a good amount of money on a Blackvue DR900S-2CH and the battery pack so that I can enable parking mode the Blackvue B-124X. While waaaaay more expensive than I really wanted to spend, I know what I am getting is one of the best dash cams on the market. Now just have to figure out a good way of installing it. I hope I will never have to use it.

makes me want to get a bright BRIGHT color like Orange Punk'N,,,,,Hey people see me please,,,do NOT hit me please....
Doesn't work that way -wish it did. I had a RED Ford F250 4x4 - big truck, did I say RED?
Anyway, was in the left lane of I 35 southbound and a lady in a white sedan decided to pull into the left lane. I was RIGHT BESIDE HER. She pulled into the side of my truck - it rippled up the entire left side of her car bumper to bumper and just put a minor ding in my right fender.
Another time I was driving along I 235 in Des Moines and someone coming down the ramp to get onto the freeway didn't see my BIG RED F250 with a FLATBED TRAILER and a TRACTOR on it - yeah, they thought that the laws of physics were a bunch of BS. It was rush time and there was no way in heck for ME to move over - they had to do a quick maneuver to the shoulder to avoid me. I guess they don't understand MERGE or that BIG RED F250s hauling flatbeds can't turn or stop on a dime?
Anyway, before all was said and done, but big red truck had been hit THREE times, none of them my fault.
Paint your Jeep with fluorescent pink and orange and have neon flashing signs on it - won't matter. Make it dummy proof and they'll just invent another dummy LOL

Be safe - and no wonder they always said - defensive driving is the rule. It's not so much me I worry about - I know my faults (and the list ain't short) - it's the other guy.

couple of things.

if you're not at fault you shouldn't have to pay your deductible, the at fault is liable.

8 hours of frame time seems like alot. your vehicle has under 500 miles and needs frame repair, that will hit carfax for sure. I would discuss with your insurance and see if you can get it totaled based on structural damage, obviously you're not going to hit threshold. I would see what other options I had before I authorized repairs. it can be fixed and repaired well, but it's always going to have a mark when you go to sell or trade. if you're going to keep it forever or wheel it hard, let'r rip tater chip. it won't matter.

you need to be reimbursed for diminished value for sure. I'm not sure what / how they figure that, but with it being a 2020 and under 500 miles I would shoot for 20-30% of trade in value to start.

p.s. I'm in TN, not a attorney or insurance agent, your laws could vary.

Nope too late, I already printed this off and gave it to my lawyer.... j/k

Yeah I plan on asking them to get me the money. I hope they do, cause I really don't want to get lawyers involved. If you have any recommendations on some place to calculate loss I am open to suggestions. Thanks!

Have the dealer you just bought it from give you trade in value.

There is your calculated loss

Glad your ok and speedy recovery to the Gladiator.

$1800 for a stabilizer bar?
See if they’ll let you keep the old one if the disconnect motor isn’t damaged, may need to replace it someday

HA so I asked the body shop to replace my "steel" bumper, they told me it wasn't available and they couldn't get any of the steel bumper parts. I really wanted to have it back ....

From my understanding they wont let me keep any of the parts. I will ask again just to see.
